I have a dedicated 175amp (14.4v) alternator on my Beta Marine 42 engine, there's a seperate smaller 45amp which charges the starter battery and cockpit circuits. For habitation batteries I have two 16s 280ah eve cell batteries (total 560ah @ 48v) Using a B2B charger is the obvious answer, but...
  • Post in thread: JK BMS with Sterling B2B charger

Was wondering if anyone could help with setting up the connection from a JK BMS to a Sterling 30amp B2B charger as I'm unsure of exactly which wire needs to be used in which connection. I assume I will need to remove the wires from the standard power button that comes with the JK BMS and attach...
  • Post in thread: Incorporate solar hot water heating into fully pumped central heating system

Apologies if I'm stating something you already know and your aiming to do it differently, but what your trying to achieve is extactly what a thermal store is designed to do, along with a number of other major advantages, I can explain if it's useful. Im a plumber by trade and have some...
  • Post in thread: Mini hydronic heat pump?

Has anyone tried using one of these? Or something similar, a small heat pump that is hydronic rather than blowing heated air, is there any other similar small heat pumps out there? https://efreesm.live/product_details/57395688.html

I have a Victron 48/8000/100-110 Multiplus2 inverter charger, no shore power, but a generator That's not a bad idea wiring a large inverter to the 12v starter battery though ? Is that... 14.4v X 175amp = 2520watts Unless I bought another 12v Victron Phoenix inverter with hard wire, I'm...
  • Post in thread: Mini hydronic heat pump?

I wondered what it would be like for small scale off grid, if it was plumbed into a thermal store running underfloor heating for something like a tiny home or boat ? Thermal store would serve both underfloor heating and domestic hot water, and this heat pump would act as a heat input.

Bump Bit lost with this can anyone help?

Thanks for your reply Mike I'll look into it. I've been having the issue when the BMS cuts out from low voltage the sterling gets stuck and doesn't wake back up, been having to lift the bonnet and pull the fuse for it to work again. I'll look into the open loop method, nice one.

I'm atuchally seeing alot more of these now since posting the link, adverts. afew different makes. I wonder what their working pressure is because with a swimming pool there's no need to allow for exspansion anywhere, was the underfloor heating pressurised/sealed?
