How to disconnect existing charger integral with inverter when using new external LiFePo4 charger.

Yes I can adjust the settings and I could adjust the settings so it wouldn’t come on with the other charger. Good idea. The tech at Signature Solar said I should have a LiFePo4 charger, so I bought one. In hindsight, I could have just adjusted the magnum charger settings and it would probably...

How to disconnect existing charger integral with inverter when using new external LiFePo4 charger.

Seems like turning off the battery breaker wouldn’t allow the display in the inverter to operate to see the voltage. When I got my new LiFePo4 batteries, I was having some problems getting the batteries to start the inverter, so I would be reluctant to turn the battery breaker off when I want to...

How to disconnect existing charger integral with inverter when using new external LiFePo4 charger.

I have a Magnum Energy inverter/ charger that has a built in charger suitable for lead acid, AGM batteries. I have a new LiFePo4 charger that is recommended for my new LiFePo4 batteries. The new charger is external to the inverter/charger and plugs into an AC outlet. Should I disconnect the...

25A 48V charger only putting out low 14A 700-800 watts

We have had similar problems with battery/ inverter start-up, as well as red warning lights with EG4 batteries mentioned in previous posts. Fortunately, our batteries seem to be working well lately, but I’ve experienced the same issue with the SS 48 volt, 25 amp charger. The charging process...

    LiFePo4 battery capacity is questionable

I agree with everything you said. I’m going to change the float to 55.2 since leaving them at 56.5V all day is not good for battery life. Not sure why the EG4 battery manual says to do that. Early tomorrow morning I’ll power the system down for 30 minutes and measure the voltage at the DC bus...

    Lifepower4 24v and MPP Solar LV2424 issue

We had a similar problem. After running fine for a couple days, one of our two batteries shut down with the red alarm light for no apparent reason. I turned the breaker off and on and it restarted. We also had a lot of difficulty getting the batteries to start up initially and then have one just...

    LiFePo4 battery capacity is questionable

If I have 60% capacity left in the morning in January, I would be very satisfied and wouldn’t buy a additional battery. If it’s 30%, then an additional battery would probably be a good idea. I’ll try the full discharge test and go from there. Thanks.

    LiFePo4 battery capacity is questionable

my post may have been misleading. The 54 volts was just the bottom threshold of 100% charge, based on a chart. Our batteries are set to charge to 56.5 volts per manufacturer recommendation.

    LiFePo4 battery capacity is questionable

Yes, they are 16 cell, 100AH batteries. If voltage isn’t a reliable way to determine soc, how can I figure out if our battery bank is sized appropriately? I am charging the batteries to 56.5 volts daily, which is what the manufacturer recommends. According to charts, 54 volts would be 99.5%...

    LiFePo4 battery capacity is questionable

We have two new 5.12 kWh 48 volt LiFePo4 batteries in parallel. Total capacity is roughly 10 kwh. Prior to sunup in the morning, the battery voltage is 52 volts (30% charge). Within 90 minutes of direct sun, the batteries are at 54 volts (100% charge), with only 1.4 kwh of power coming from the...

Schneider xw pro 6848 not powering up with eg4 lithium battery

Agreed. Having it user programmable, within a certain range would most likely solve the problem. I downloaded the software, and it doesn’t allow any tweaking of the settings.

Schneider xw pro 6848 not powering up with eg4 lithium battery

Yes, we have the new EG4 LifePower4. No LCD screen.

Schneider xw pro 6848 not powering up with eg4 lithium battery

We just bought (2) EG4’s in 100AH, 48 volts, connected in parallel. We have a Magnum Energy 4400 watt inverter and Midnite Solar 150 mppt. We experienced the same problem when trying to connect to the inverter. Both batteries showed a red alarm light and no voltage out of the batteries. Both...
