This is on some kits recently purchased. 2 bms, 2 lcd, both showing 0v/a/temp. However the bms does accept a charge when provided and on (and does allow a draw). Any ideas?
this was from the only `gold` installer in the area. Took a while to get the quote but better.
I am going to talk to sol-ark about the silver who wanted 6k more than this one.
Its an option, and its cheaper than 10k. But moving all of the circuits (its a 40 slot panel) is the definition of toil. I think
Solid.
Finally got a second quote, for permitting, the 200A disco + 200A MTS + all other materials in labor == $4500. For the western Wa area, i think this is much...
Its locked and tagged.
I can cut their tags/locks, but it's "illegal", and its obvious its done when they (eventually) notice there is no lock/tag on the meter
yep. They claim this on their site. Maybe if I asked on the phone it would be different, but in general the question is
"why do we need to turn it off? Do you have a permit + inspection to energize?"
Doing the approach to add a disconnect post meter is probably the smartest idea, getting a permit + inspection on this is simple.
The utility company will not shut down the power without a permit for work (per their website, haven't called to verify)
Good advice. I the installer said the bulk of the quote was because:
200amp 3 way, disconnects, and as the equipment as large it and there is so much new stuff there is more labor to ensure it can pass inspection.
his last "good" electrician called it the "more complex and difficult than a...
These guys are on the recommended list. That's the crazy part. 2 of the other 7 in the area ghosted. 1 waiting for reply. And going to call the other 3 today
Our meter can is locked and tagged or else I'd just do this myself. Sigh, what a pain in the ass.
I literally have (somewhat illegally) installed offgrid feeding a partial panel.
The company is claiming the install is "as difficult as most small commercial jobs" and "significantly harder than...
I need to get a disconnet from the power company to move the power off my mains.
They won't do it without a permit
The permitting offices here hate DIY, and are giving me a massive runaround (funny enough the company who wants 10k is saying they have to argue with the permitting office for...
And your doing the full 200a passthrough?
I have mine installed in off-grid mode, and literally to make it passthrough I just need move the mains from the panel, into the inverter, then output of inverter will go to main panel, rather than my offgrid panel.
Quote: 10k
Has anyone gotten this installed successfully after they purchased it from an electrician? Curious what quotes/prices we are are getting when installing it between the mains and the panel...
I am getting quotes in the 6-10k range, with quotes like "this is the hardest inverter to install"...
I think they got the 15k from "with solar" aspect.
also somewhat annoying, they still ship as 12k with solar, and you have to update the damn thing to get that 15k with solar unlocked.
