  • Post in thread: Big battery with andersen connector connection with scc question

I just received my Big Battery 170ah with the anderson with eye splice connector with the thought of hooking the eye splices to a breaker then to a buss barr & then on to an inverter. I have 800w of solar panels on the roof of my rv split into 2 arrays feeding 2 Victron 100/30 scc's,then on to...
  • Post in thread: Degradation of LiFeP04 batteries.

Am building a 400 w solar system for an older motor home & still need to buy the charge controller, already have panels ,lithium batteries and inverter. Was watching Wills vid on battery degradation so am curious if most scc's are programmable for the sweet spots of 75% & 25% for charging &...
  • Post in thread: Victron MPPT 100/50 with RV Converter Charger same circuit ?

I bought an automatic transfer switch which I plan on installing s soon as I get all my batteries set up.Will has a great video with step by step instructions on the subject .I think that will solve that potential problem for me.
  • Post in thread: Cell configuration

I tried that but it won't fit in that configuration. I know having the + - would be ideal but wasn't sure if having them that close would cause a problem. Thanks
  • Post in thread: victron blue solar or smart solar controller

Narrowed my controller selection to a 150/45 Victron smart controller for my first solar install. They offer this controller in a Tr or a MC4 model .Tr has the screw connectors which I've heard are on the small side & the other has the MC4 connectors, wondering what the pros & cons of each are...
  • Post in thread: Victron MPPT 100/50 with RV Converter Charger same circuit ?

I guess I should of clarified that I will be using an inverter which as I understand it will energize the converter for the dc side when not on shore power ,I'm hoping at least .Noob here trying to figure out the puzzle.
  • Post in thread: Help needed for rv setup

Am a little confused on which way to go with the array set up on my motorhome roof.Have purchased not yet installed,4 x100w,12v renogy panels with two more to come.Have yet to purchase the charge controller but have two lithium 90ah batteries and have taken the plunge and ordered the calb cells...
  • Post in thread: Help needed for rv setup

I'll be putting them on my motorhome roof, I will weld up aluminum frames with legs to minimize holes and once all 6 are up there they will be pretty close to one another ,will have two rows of three end to end,its 24ft total. Thanks for the reply.

  • Post in thread: Help needed for rv setup

Evening to you Backswash. I will be welding up some aluminum frames to mount the panels too,to minimize holes in the roof & also enable me to remove a panel without unscrewing from the roof. With my configuration of vents on the roof will be mounting them in pairs so maybe that will lend itself...
  • Post in thread: A few newb questions

Was wondering if there's any reason not to use romex to go from the inverter to an automatic transfer switch 10ft away. Can all lifep04 batteries be layed sideways or stacked on top of one another as long as they are secured.Would heat transfer be an issue. Have two Lion Energy 90ah batteries &...
  • Post in thread: Help needed for rv setup

I could save myself a lot of work going that route.I'm old school ,but I guess its time to trust these adhesives out these days .I'll give it a try , clean & scuff up the aluminum roof to get a good key.I know Will talks about using the outdoor double sided tape.not sure i'm ready to trust that...
  • Post in thread: A few newb questions

Joey ,this is a mobile setup. The batteries & inverter will be under a bench seat inside .Was planing on cutting a square hole with mesh over it for ventilation.
  • Post in thread: Big battery with andersen connector connection with scc question

Thankyou ,that clears things up a bit ,yes I will be using a 40 amp breaker & appropriate cable.I am a "if in doubt go stout " merchant.
  • Post in thread: Help needed for rv setup

I like that idea as I wanted to have a mobile panel anyway. If i make some sort of quick release mechanism for on or two of the panels closest to the ladder then after using them on the ground I put them back & no storage problem.I can find a cheapo charge controller that I can designate for the...
  • Post in thread: Cell configuration

I have limited spacein my rv battery compartment. This is the only configuration that will fit eith these calb cells. I'm getting my 13volts from the two exposed terminals. Was wondering if i might have problems withem being so close together.Obviously id have to connect the leads with care.Anyone...
  • Post in thread: Renogy 100 watt compact panels CM deal

Decided to jump on that deal to start my 400w project & thought the same about the double price offer,so tried to order four.Well it had a limit of three single purchases.Fiendish!! Ended up getting two singles & the double as it worked out cheaper than waiting for regular price or buying from...
  • Post in thread: New build on old coach questions

Hi all, newbie here with some questions, hopefully that can be answered.Renovating a 79 Winnie which has a new ac/dc distribution center with converter & charger suitable for liFepo4. Wanting to add solar & have been pouring over Wills book, vids & this forum & getting somewhat confused in the...
  • Post in thread: Integrate solar with the current rv system

Will has a good video on installing a transfer switch.I'm in the same boat as you, will be installing 600w of panels ,two charge controllers & a 3000w inverter. My pan is to connect all that to my converter via a transfer switch so i can go back or forth if i'm using shore power or not.
