The blue lights are just a quick visual go/no-go for the internal MOV circuitry. The leds require power from a source to work, but the MOVs inside the SPD are protecting the equipment at all times.

Oh, they work (as long as you have them installed correctly and have proper grounding). I use them in all my clients systems. Saved a bunch of them already in lightening storms.

I love snowmobiling and Sleds. I recently hopped up (larger displacement, ported, high performance head, etc) a new engine for my custom-built sled. We had a crap winter, so there will be a few more modifications for next season - but I’m back to solar projects, so the sled is parked :)

I used a 4x1/0 - 2x4/0 distribution block each for the pos and neg. So 4x 1/0 feeds from the batteries combine to 2x 4/0 feeds to the sol-ark.
