I don't think I've seen an installation with the conduit actually being put all the way into the unit. Just close to it, then the wire is put through. I'm not sure that conduit would fit into the openings. The holes for the PV and DC inputs are about 1 1/2".
My unit is the 48V.
The manual of this Growatt specifies 8 gauge for the AC output. Does it matter how long of a run that is? My distance between the unit and the breaker box will be about 260 feet.
My panels are going into a Watts247 combiner box, then into the Growatt. Does the combiner box...
I should be receiving my 250W used Santan panels this week. I haven’t ordered anything else yet. I initially planned to use a LV2424 all-in-one, but they keep going out of stock…and I can see some benefits of just building a 24V system.
I’ll list the main parts I’m planning to use, based on...
The Growatt is an all-in-one unit. My 60' run would be coming from the farthest panel, along the roof, then down into the combiner box. What would be the proper gauge wire for connecting the panels to the combiner box?
Would it it be better to have the inverter and batteries near the breaker box? I thought I would be making it worse to have such a long run from the combiner box to the inverter.
Does anyone have experience with this particular charge controller? One picture of it looks generic...another shows "Growatt".

Thanks!
I was planning to use 2 of the 40A controllers (see my OP). I had hoped it would work well to put 6 panels facing east and 6 facing west, then run 3S2P to each scc. I could probably only face south by tilting some of them. I wondered if it might be a waste of money to buy a higher amp scc...
This might be a ridiculous question...where would the ground wire go? (the 8/2 wire noted above) There is only a positive and a negative port for the PV input.
I just want to be sure this will work before I order the wire. Thanks for your patience everyone....
Two values for max PV Voc: The product states 150V (138V @ 77 degrees F) I don't understand the range.
So, I would be better off to just use a single charge controller? 80A? 100A?
I appreciate the help. I may just not use all 12 panels. It's getting pricey to try to use all of them. That leaves me some spares in the event of damage or failure. Thanks again!
If anyone could help me with wire, breaker, fuse details, I would like to order my missing parts soon. The panels will be on an attached garage, Growatt and batteries in the garage.
This system will independent of the grid.
Parts I have:
