I wasn't offended, didn't mean to come out as such and also didn't mean to offend. I am here to learn and very happy I found Williams videos. I was just explaining why unfortunately I need more power than average.

Thanks everyone for the help, seems like the more I learn, to more it's going to cost me. Even though it's only a 20' TT, me my wife and 2 dogs will be living in it full time for about a year completely offgrid while we build. So I need a robust system. The issue is not a smaller solar array or...
  • Post in thread: New batt to test

Hey Will, Any way to buy, test and tear down a Gyll 12v and 48v battery? Lots of YouTube videos on just general use of them, but nothing like your reviews. The batteries seem well built, 5 yr warranty and cheap. Need your OK like you gave to SOK and Big Battery. Working on a 12v TT system, then...

We all have different needs. My wife's Ninja Foodie is 1460 watts, taking that away from her would be equal to her taking away my power tools, no deal. Instant hot water kettle to warm up my dogs raw food from the fridge 1500 watts, Vitamix blender which is the corner stone of our health, 1380...

I'm am OK with a 24V system, but that would mean 4 BB instead if 3 to get 24V, am I correct? BB was totally OK with 3 Batts at 12V and a 3K inverter.

Thanks for the replies, will look into Samlex.
  • Post in thread: Costs of connections

Hi, This question is for William, you did say to contact you within the forum. I finally figured out my system and picked up your book on Amz. I would like to get an estimate on what the wires, terminals, breakers, bus bars and tools will cost. I will have 10 100w solar panels needing mc4...
  • Post in thread: Wirering costs

Hi tictag, Sorry you don't understand the need for the question. After a lot of research to determine the size system I need/want, deciding to go with lithium instead of AGM for weight and longevity, deciding to go with Battle Born and Victron for length of warranty, reputation, reviews, etc and...
  • Post in thread: 12v or 24v

Hi Everyone, Thanks a bunch to William Prowse, I'll buy as much thru your Amz links as possible to support u. I need an off grid system for my TT. I will use 10-100W rigid panels, a 3000W inv, 1-80A or 2-40A CC and AGM Batts. As far as Batts, I can do as far as space, weight and $: 4-6V 220AH...
  • Post in thread: 12v or 24v

Hi, Little more confused than before, where are you getting 3kw from? If I have 10-100W panels, isn't that 1kw of dc coming in? And when you say to use a 24V battery, you mean a 12V in series, correct? Because I don't see any AGM or Battle Born sold in 24V. If we concentrate in watt hours, I am...

Hi, 15% for axcillaries is a good enough guess for me to go by. Since the axcillary items I need will not change from system to system, nor the quality or the gauge size. So since my system is a bit pricey, I can guess now myself with your 15% being Max, maybe it will be about 10%. So a few...
  • Post in thread: Wirering

Hi, I have noticed that most RV solar systems wire the a/c in a way that it won't run off the inverter on solar and only run when it transfer over to shore power because even if the system is powerful enough to start it and run it, the batteries would not last long. I've noticed that my a/c fan...

Since William was unable to answer, can anyone give me a rough estimate on costs of materials to wire the system below. Thanks. • Post in thread: Best 3K Inverter/Charger

Hi, Thanks for all the replies. Originally I was a little doughtful of Victron about some things I read, but I spoke directly with them and drilled them on what I had heard, they were very knowledgeable, gave me good realistic answers and never a sales pitch. After looking further into their...
  • Post in thread: Best 3K Inverter/Charger

Great post/reply Steve_S, I did look into the all in ones and didn't like them either. I was completely clueless a few months ago about solar. I feel I learned a lot from William's videos and others, the forum and my own research. After figuring all this out for my RV, I will be better prepared...

Good idea, I am still few months away.
  • Post in thread: Wirering costs

Hi, thanks for the response. I can get 10 100w good quality mono panels for $780. As far as the wiring, it is a existing RV, not camper van, so the breaker panel is there and of course all the other wiring. I was just trying to get a rough idea on cost for wiring from someone that went thru it...
  • Post in thread: Where to buy best LifePo4 raw cells from.

Hi, With all of the great videos out there on building your own battery and most manuf using the raw cells from China anyway. It's almost a no-brainer for me to build my own 12-volt battery for the RV & 48 volt battery for the house. I would prefer to purchase them on AliExpress since it is most...

Thank FilterGuy and tictag, Now I know how to measure the draw and then I can figure how much of the batteries it will use, then I can determine if it's worth running the a/c fan or just stick to my vent fans. Thanks.
  • Post in thread: Wirering costs

Hi, sorry the confusion, I probably didn't word it correctly. I have the equipment picked out and priced, I just included the equipment to you had idea on wire gauge size. I was just trying to get an idea on the wires for solar panels, CC, batts, inv/charger, bus bars, fuses, connectors, etc. I...
  • Post in thread: Best 3K Inverter/Charger

Hi, Looking for the most dependable, longest lasting 3K Inverter/Charger out there. Outback doesn't make one, was considering a Spartan Power, but reviews not so good, Aims and Xantrax even worse, even the Victron which I thought was the best and is used the most has multiple negative reviews...
  • Post in thread: Camper van

Hi, I did a full solar install in my last RV. When I do a camper van conversion I want to do it differently. I want to either use a all in one inverter/charger or a solar generator. With a solar generator I'm guessing I could wire an internal camper plug and connect to rv solar generator...
