Ampinvt split phase in an RV shore connection?

I think I agree with this. I was not properly realizing that the transformer can create the other leg of output. I was thinking it had a full transfer switch that would disconnect the output from the transformer and send the input straight out. I think your diagram makes more sense. I will...

    Ampinvt huge DC amp swings?

To answer my own question: Yes, inverters generally have big capacitors on the input (DC) side that should smooth out the current. There should not be any significant amplitude of a 60hz signal on the DC side. My inverter must have some failed parts.

    Repairing inverters...

It is a low frequency beast. It has a nice big round transformer. It is a heavy unit. I am going to do that but am hoping to get some "architecture" description help. I mean something that describes what I'll find at the input side and output side and what, if any, these input capacitors will...

    Ampinvt huge DC amp swings?

I took 2000 samples and pumped them into a discreet Fourier that had a spike at 34 samples, which means 166ms. That is 6hz, which is suspiciously spot on 10x of 60hz (maybe sampling at 4.8ms was too slow to properly pick up the dominant 60hz). Shouldn't the inverter have some capacitance that...

    Repairing inverters...

I have an Ampinvt 6000W split phase inverter. For a few weeks of daily use it worked fine. Now, it works fine, but the DC amps are oscillating. If I have a load that should draw around 70A DC, the DC current is swinging from 0 to 150A. I put a digital ammeter shunt inline on the DC side and...

    Ampinvt huge DC amp swings?

The amps are oscillating when charging and when there's only the clock load. I put a digital shunt in line and it's oscillating very fast. I'll bet it's at 60hz. I'll confirm that frequency. The web page is displaying every 2 sec so it's not capturing the full oscillations

    Ampinvt huge DC amp swings?

I have an Ampinvt 6000W 24V split phase inverter. The DC Amps are swinging wildly when the inverter is on. Below is a screen shot where the inverter is running an induction cooktop and an oven. The AC amps were 12 and 16 on the 2 different phases, so total 3360W, and therefore 134A at 25V. The...

Ampinvt split phase in an RV shore connection?

Their wiring diagram is "high level". It does not provide detail, or to put it bluntly, it is crap. I am in the middle of an enormous back and forth via email with ampinvt. It seems like the email person is translating my words to the electrical engineer and the electrical engineer then answers...

Ampinvt split phase in an RV shore connection?

I am describing the typical situation where an RV owner will use a 15 or 30amp connector that delivers the same single 120VAC hot to both HOT of the nema 14-50 plug. So both legs of HOT have the same phase, and therefore have 0V between them. RVs do not have 240VAC loads, so this is totally fine...

Ampinvt split phase in an RV shore connection?

I can use a 50A campsite connection, the neutral from the 50A will not be connected to anything. But Ampinvt is saying that the ground should also not be connected. Does this make sense? If either of the hot legs shorted to the chassis it would be rather nasty without a path back to the input to...

240vac split phase solution for mini split AC

Have you thought about getting 3 24VDC mini splits?

Ampinvt split phase in an RV shore connection?

I have an ampinvt 6kw split phase inverter in my RV. I don't need 240V. I figured it was the easiest way to power the A/C, stove, oven, disposal, and dishwasher without juggling 2 inverters. I want to retire the 24V power supply that I use to charge the batteries, and the transfer switch. But...

Does anyone make a simple MPPT with on/off?

I have plugged in a Victron MPPT 100/50 ($300+) and it produces minimal, if any, additional power compared to the DSSR20, which is effectively a straight connection from the battery to the panels. The MPPT picks 30V as the power point, and of course without the MPPT the voltage is the battery's...

Does anyone make a simple MPPT with on/off?

I apologize for using sarcasm in the post that you have replied to. I should have been more blunt as follows. You have failed to comprehend what I am doing and how I am doing it. Unfortunately this makes your comments irrelevant and worse misleading for other readers. Thank you, but frankly...

Does anyone make a simple MPPT with on/off?

Not if you design a different type of BMS. Read my earlier comment on what I built. Again, I do not send any current through my BMS. My BMS and Electrodacus and maybe battrium are different. If you read my very early posts in this thread you would discover I want to compare the MPPT with a...
