  • Post in thread: One 400W solar panel to 2 power stations?

Hello everyone. The last topic that I posted I was amazed at the great info that I got! So now I come with another question. Please bear with me, I'm new to this. A friend of mine would up with 2 portable power stations, 300W max output, 288Wh capacity and 12-24V/5A solar input (male XT60)...
  • Post in thread: Balcony "on-grid" system. Can it work off-grid too?

Thanks! However, look at the description and photos on the link I sent. This grid-tied system's AC out is meant to be plugged directly (!) into the mains socket of your house. Just to be clear, my question was if it was possible to convert that system safely to an off-grid one. On that setup...
  • Post in thread: Ultra budget system 12v passive battery Vs what panels?

Hi all. I was looking at this video of our host I think what he is missing is the solar panel system for such budget setup, so I'm asking here instead: Is it safe to connect a, say, 40v-max-rated panel to that "dumb" 12v battery? I guess not (if it does not fry the battery, then it may fry the...

OK, got it! So, no way to retrofit that grid-tied system into an off-grid system. Thanks for the clarifications!

Got it! I thought those Victron solar converters have similar (almost no) functionality to those 8 USD solar "convertors". But it seems that those actually step down the voltage. Great!

I am new to Solar, but have been watching a lot of YouTube guides, including of our host, and reading online too. I am seeing this system pop up on Amazon in Europe...
  • Post in thread: One 400W solar panel to 2 power stations?

My idea was 1 MPPT before the splitter. But I get that the MPPT might get confused. Would then the "dumb" PWM not work better? The point is that the guy already has 2 Power Stations. And they can only get charged at 24V x 5A. So, charging at half-rate is gonna be sub-optimal. But also, would it...
