I am asking about switching the negative balancing wire. Not the main power wire. So it would be a low cost $5 ebay thermostat.

Can one put a thermostat on the negative bms wire(first lead) to shut down the bms in low temperatures? Would be a easy work around for a low cost bms. Down side?
