I'm not saying that EMI can never be a cause for some particular issues (even if I doubt it's true in this case) - did you see their proposed solution, though? "Just reset the BMS whenever it happens"; does that really seem like a suitable solution?
I have built plenty systems based on Seplos...
It is a shielded cable, and I responded with that info which makes Seplos support go silent; it seems like they want to deflect, not understand or fix a problem. I do however agree that what you're saying is plausible, and there might be a chance that the RJ45 cable (or the RS485 converter) may...
No update, Seplos doesn't really have post-sales from my experience. I purchased v14, so the non-Bluetooth version. I'm almost certain that CAN/inverter handling won't be very much different on the most recent hardware (even though it runs a newer firmware), but I don't have first-hand experience.
@peppebytes as @sidepipe mentioned:
Do you have some code for Home Assistant yet? I'm starting to play with the Seplos BMS as well, and would be grateful if there's something pre-existing that can be collaborated on.
Wondering if anyone else has seen this problem in one of their battery packs. This has been happening at least twice now for one of the packs I ordered from Seplos; I'm using dbus-serialbattery to gather information via RS485, and this particular BMS stops responding after some time - only a...
Given my recent experience with multiple issues I tried escalating to Seplos via Support, I was wondering if anyone here experienced actual success when escalating an issue to Support that required an actual code change / firmware upgrade.
As an example, I was asked to provide loads of...
I have been trying to discuss this with Seplos support, but it's really tough.
Can someone here who has a setup with more than one battery pack validate this issue on their end?
The BMS will report the amount of energy charged/discharged; in my case, these values seemed way too high, so I did a...
This has been reported in another forum by other users as well, sounds like it has been introduced with firmware version 2.8.
Unfortunately, Seplos are saying this isn't a serious enough bug and it won't be fixed for the v14 hardware - when inquiring about firmware updates for v14 hardware...
There's just one data cable from the BMS to the converter; using the 2nd RS485 port doesn't change the situation. For termination, it appears to be common ground that "long" lines need termination, "short" ones don't (which doesn't mean cable length). However, it seems inplausible that an RS485...
