Official list of those wronged by Michael B Caro

Mine never got resolved. He hasn't responded in 18+ months. He's since shut down his online battery website and his RV park map sales business. Those are indications that his financial problems are pretty large. Does anybody have a current contact for Caro?

Partial & Unpredictable shading best practices

Are the cell optimizers, like Maxim, "splitting" the panels into 3 parallel separate strings or do they continue to run in series at the panel level? The reason I ask is that the data on the Maxim chips shows a max of 21V. Would this also eliminate being able to run panels in series? Are these...

Partial & Unpredictable shading best practices

I know this thread is a year old, but has anyone used these Maxim Chips? https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/maxim-integrated/MAX20801TPBA/10270876 They look like they are made for 12V panels with a max of 21V. Is it a correct assumption that you couldn't run the panels in series? I see...

    DC-DC (B2B), MPPT and AC all-in-one?

Let me know if you get an answer to this. I've been wondering the same thing. I was wondering if I could use my old 13.6v RV converter on the input of a DC-DC converter or into the PV MPPT input.

    BMS Question

Thanks Bob! That's a lot simpler than I had in my mind. I was stuck on running the contactor in parallel to the BMS, thinking it would be used for larger loads. I was thinking about using the BMS to run the 12V loads and a contactor, that could also be manually shut off, to run a large inverter.

    BMS Question

I was just planning on asking the same thing... Are there BMS's that have a +out (signal lead)? Otherwise I can't figure out how to wire a contactor relay coil. The way I see it you're either grounding the coil to the house battery or the starter battery depending on which side of the bms you...

DC-DC charger (B2B) options and general discussion

https://www.donrowe.com/kisae-dmt2430-abso-30a-24v-dc-dc-battery-charger-p/dmt2430.htm This one is 24v. I can't seem to find it anywhere else and it's not even on Kisae's website, so I don't know if it's too new or discontinued already??? I do see in the manual (pg. 10) that the Kisae's only...

Kisae DMT1250 partial disassembly and remote disconnect addition

Hello fellow Minnesotan and thank you! I'm in North Branch and new to solar. I've done plenty of car audio and 120vAC work, but this is getting interesting. Anyway, I am considering the DMT1250 myself for my older Class C. Is the red wire you added 12v in or is it grounded through the relay...
