APC MX3000, Can it be converted to use Lifepo4 batteries?
I picked up a free and working APC MX3000 a few years back. It is in working condition and configured for 208v. Would I be able to plug in 8 Lishen 272ah lifepo4 batteries in place of the lead acid batteries? Would I need any additional equipment? Why fuse or circuit breaker on the feed from the solar charge controler
Why do people put fuses and circuit breakers between the battery and the solar charge controller? If the fuse or breaker pop, wont it burn out the charge controller as well? I can see why a manual shutoff is helpful but not the other two.- Reaction score: 0

I have a 60a 150v charge controller and a 24v Lifepo4 battery. I heard it is best to stay under the max. But is it even better to design the system to be as close as possible to the 24v as a designed minimum. Will this be easier on the charge controller?
