Looks like a new shed. A nice 3mt x 10mt Shed is on the cards with a full PV array as a roof, Maybe 10 x 500w panels will do it?? Why are UK rules so pedantic??
Hi All,
I've just added a Fogstar 15.5kWh to my system
I have a Growatt SPH3000 Hybrid inverter that did have 2 ML33RTA batteries (now for sale)
This setup was fine however even this time of year i was reaching 100% which is good but not great.
I had 2 choices add more ML33RTA batteries (maximum...

Hi All,
I'm trying to get my head around UK permitted development rules.
So I have 9 x 410w solar panels which i want to use in my garden. So I understand that I'm allowed 9 square meters in size. however my problem is that i wish to add these panels to my fence line as this faces south and I'm...
From My Understanding You use 20kwh each day in the winter and 40kwh in the summer. You need to find out your peak kw so you can choose the correct inverter. EG if your peak kw is 9.5kw (cooker, Heating and hairdryer all items on at once) Then you will need at least 10kwh Inverter.
As for...
I've no issues with direct RS485 connection and no need for 120ohm resistor just grounded one side. the issue is with the waveshare converters which may be Data loss, Coms issue or Lag over the network? also the connection between waveshare to Meter/Inverter was less than 20cm for each one.
The...
Yesterday, After speaking to Growatt I've bitten the bullet and fitted a shielded RS485 cable to my SPH3000. It was a good 50mt run. Anyway It has greatly reduced my return to grid consummation to almost zero. My only conclusion is that the hand shake between my first RS485 unit to the other...
Hi I Have 2 Growatt ML33RTA batteries for sale.
Both batteries have have very minimum use approx 3 months.
Both are very clean and in boxes
I'm selling due to buying a larger single unit and I'm unable to use in my set up any more.
Please see pictures for warranty via growatt (serial numbers)...
I've the same issue. Just in 5 days my smart meter states 106kwh usage and Growatt states 91kwh usage? this is a little concerning as this could be costing me over £200 a year?. I'm due to upgrade my D Board and replace my sdm120 for a sdm230, I'm even thinking about a about an MID approved...
Hi All,
I've read this thread several times and It's full of interesting stuff. So I have a Question.
I've just fitted a Growatt SPH3000 down the garden with 6.6kw storage and 3.6kw PV panels. This has been wired using the suggestions from this thread CT coil to smart meter, RS485 to waveshare...
I fully agree, Information is key. So as a matter of course and me being me. I'm looking at the following. Take a KWh reading from the smart meter, Growatt SDM120 and a cheap and cheerful KWh unit thats also connected to the mains.
Leave for 1 week and check the results. All things being equal...
So for reference and if anybody is interested.
Smart Meter, 355KWh
SMD120, 452.52KWh
Smart Life, 725.99KWh
All readings taken Sunday 10th March @ 16.20.
Will feed back in a week or so with results and any next steps.
I'm not sure what tools / Chargers you have but if your chargers are a 2 wire supply then a requirement for grounding is not required. However your Inverter may have a earth point? If not and it's an isolated unit you may be good to go. If it does require earthing could you fit a Earth rod?
Not...
