Nice comprehensive cart there, awesome to see you putting in the time to do that. The TAO BMS looks like a good addition to the list. What I don't get with Solar charge controllers, inverters etc in 2021 is that most manufacturers don't include WiFi/ethernet server and pc software as standard...

I like to dabble with electronics and the DIY BMS v4 and up look interesting but you might as well but one for the self build cost. I made my own solar tracking for two of my panels that move vertically and it work quite well. I also made a temperature monitor for the inverter, charge...

I agree, most main line motorcycle companies now make bikes in China, KTM, harley davidson make lines in China now

I prefer the disconnect to disable the battery if it's to low incase the charge controller doesn't disconnect the DC loads and if my my relay or volt sensor fils to disconnect the inverter, a bit of redundancy. Do you know if it still balances if it disconnects when a cell is to high? I am...

I know but in the UK you have to help the thief's out with your gear, my opinion is if they want my stuff then there in for a shock (big one) lol, they shouldn't be doing what they are doing and deserve what they get. I remember a farmer going to prison for shooting intruders in his home even...

I decided to go with the QUCC relay bms is has a larger balance current and reviews are amazing for the BMS. It also supports 7s-20s so there's more room for later expansion when I save enough money
  • Post in thread: The secret to compression

Interesting read. I can not see it been hard to make a Arduino based compression system making use of sensors and a linear actuator to provide different pressure at different temperatures and different levels of charge.

Thanks for the reply, they have upgraded the relays on the models they are selling now. The new ones with the better relay have alot of good reviews, I am still waiting for my batteries so I guess I will know if it's any good when they arrive lol
  • Post in thread: QUCC Smart BMS 150a

Has anyone tried the UART module for the QUCC bms's?
  • Post in thread: What's your opinion on the best BMS?

I am in the UK and and took the plunge into lifepo4 batteries and ordered 8* 200ah cells from AliExpress while the sale is on. The manufacturer recommends the Daly BMS systems but reading some threads seems like they can be unreliable? But also see some where the user needs enlightening to how...

I am doing 8s, I think a smart BMS is the way to go and regular maintenance schedule like tightening the nuts etc with expansion etc when that are charged etc... I have read a few threads about Daly bms and some of them seem to be user issues not the vm's itself, I think that have gone for a...

Just found this one.. Its a relay BMS, The QUCC 7s-20s bms There is to many choices, I hate choice so indecisive. The attractive thing for me is the balancing current of 260mA, so the cells Ballance faster. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLHGnWf
  • Post in thread: The secret to compression

The thing is when the battery cell is low on charge it is concave between the terminals and when fully changes it expands and convexed between the terminals. So is a straight bit of wood either end under force be enough? Does it need compression when low in charge and at what pressure, I say...

Has anyone actually contacted a manufacturer and talked to them about this topic?
  • Post in thread: Adding a battery to a SUN 1000W GTIL

I wouldn't of thought about parrallel with a inverter because the sine wave can get really dirty, just got up can not think straight yet lol
  • Post in thread: AMPINVT 24v/3000w Inverter/Chargers

Every time I need to get InTouch with customer service I do it via Facebook messenger and they reply quite quickly. I have had a 60a mppt charge controller of there's for a year now and have decided to keep it over the epever it's now replaced, performs much better in low light conditions
  • Post in thread: Adding a battery to a SUN 1000W GTIL

I threw out my cat 5 and only have cat 6 left, I am hoping to extend mine when it's delivered. The alternative I can see is have a timer, a relay and a voltmeter (for when you limit the voltage). When the timer is on the relay switches to the voltmeter and when the voltage goes down switches a...

The specs from the manufacturer says 25v starting current then can use 22v as a minimum
  • Post in thread: Adding a battery to a SUN 1000W GTIL

Hope it doesn't fry your inverter, fingers crossed it doesn't

Sure no problems.. Dashboard Battery view Log view Temperature calibration Voltage graph (click to zoom in on the app)
  • Post in thread: What's your opinion on the best BMS?

I have gone with the QUCC relay smart BMS with UART to usb module and a very long usb cable so I can monitor/set up via computer. Usb to rj45 converter for a total length of 30m. I am rigging up a heat mat with a temp sensor for the old British weather (supposed to snow tonight), the cells are...

There's also 59 parrameters that you can set on this BMS that I think is alot to give greater control over your system. I am still messing around with the settings to figure out what's best for me
  • Post in thread: Adding a battery to a SUN 1000W GTIL

Just a thought but I saw a YouTube video and about pressing the settings button and the up arrow (I think it was) and this opens a setup menu, there you can switch the settings from solar to batteries etc etc, haven't tried it yet still waiting for delivery
  • Post in thread: What's your opinion on the best BMS?

I haven't but I am looking into there 495w panels, they are very affordable, there factory looks semi automated from what I have seen on different sites etc. I would like to know know about them as in the UK there is a few importers offering there panels at a decent price.
  • Post in thread: What's your opinion on the best BMS?

The QUCC smart BMS relay is really quite good and the software also shows graphs on voltage, current etc when you tap the voltage readout on the dash board. You cal also calibrate the temperature sensor by clicking the temerature on the dashboard. It's these little features that make all the...
  • Post in thread: QUCC Android app updated

There is a new app version for Android. I spoke to a QUCC Representative and they said that the play store hasn't been updated but the new version is working for Apple devices. The android version is linked below, this is the URL the representative gave me The website is in Chinese mind you...

Fafrd is correct, this grid tie inverter will suppliment the load when it's over the specified current of the inverter and more power will be drawn from the grid to power the load at its operating current. I currently run my TV, CCTV system etc via a inverter but I am thinking of getting one...
