  • Post in thread: Doing this thing

While I've always had a passing interest in solar power, it was earlier this year that I stumbled across the Jackery brand while searching for a portable phone charger. And what a rabbit hole that was. The past couple of months have brought about such an information overload. While my first...
  • Post in thread: Renogy E.Flex 50w brief review by a newbie

I've had the renogy foldable 50w for a couple of days now. It came with not only an ac plug and car adapter, but an mc4 adapter that when connected and laid out measures about 9 feet from the panel. It also came with every dc adapter that you could need. The usb a 2.4 and usb c 3.0 worked as...

  • Post in thread: DC connector melted while connected to bluetti. salvageable?

Thanks for the lecture. I'm the type to obsessively research things, especially of an electrical nature, before doing anything. I first set this up a couple of years ago and it did not get heavy use by any means. So either i missed something back then, or i overlooked something later on when i...

With the matter of the senate, originally it was the state legislatures that voted for senators, and the people (depending on time period) who voted on representatives. Then a constitutional amendment was passed requiring senators to also be elected by popular vote. Nothing addressing the new...

    Wut?
  • Post in thread: Newbie comment on rant

What does this have to do with voter registration? I'm pro free market with enough regulation to maintain a sense of sanity in it all. These things of which you speak are not sane. Edit: ugh, didn't intend to quote two posts.
  • Post in thread: Rockpals 330 solar charging issue

I checked and double checked, the one i have has mppt. Now though I've returned my rigid solar panel to get the renogy 50w foldable one, so if Rockpals hasn't replied by then i guess I can test the shading issue again.
  • Post in thread: Determining actual soc for lifepo4 power station?

More specifically, this is for the bluetti eb70. The battery display on this thing is very inaccurate. Enter my mini freezer which has a voltage readout. When fully charged, the freezer will show the eb70 at 14.8v, same as when plugged into the wall. Fast forward, the battery display is reading...
  • Post in thread: Apparent power station drain with nothing plugged in

I plugged in a fan with approximately a 60 watt pull. Once the station hit 20% i turned it off. According to my watt reader it used 0.17kwh in 2.7 hrs. The rockpals is rated for a 288.6 wh capacity. So theoretically, taking inefficiencies into account and a starting capacity of 86% (it went down...
  • Post in thread: DC connector melted while connected to bluetti. salvageable?

Thanks for the replies. A search on replacing the part almost exclusively produces links for laptop repairs. And it's difficult to find anything on the AC30 anymore. Regardless, I'll be replacing all my mc4, etc, while trying to see if there's some obvious issue with my current setup. There's...
  • Post in thread: Determining actual soc for lifepo4 power station?

The 12v is regulated, i tested it multiple times with a multimeter. When i originally posted my question i had run the fridge using the ac port. I've returned the power station since, and now I'm kicking myself as i didn't pay closer attention when i used the 12v port.
  • Post in thread: DC connector melted while connected to bluetti. salvageable?

I took another look at my setup and did some research again. Either I'd misunderstood something or miscalculated back then. I had notes but I don't know what happened to them. So this is what I think that I was looking at. -The bluetti has a max input of 10 amps -16awg is the minimum for a 100w...
  • Post in thread: Lots of random power station brands on amazon - are they "all the same"?

Just looking through random power stations on amazon, it seems that a lot of them, bluetti included, are just white label products. While that by itself isn't necessarily an issue is there really any good way to compare them? Can't trust the reviews, my guess is that they hire an english speaker...
  • Post in thread: Determining actual soc for lifepo4 power station?

I see. I plan to run some tests once it's charged.
  • Post in thread: DC connector melted while connected to bluetti. salvageable?

Then one more question. My ecoflow has a max solar charge rate of 400 watts. It came with a 14awg cable. I feel as if I'm finding conflicting information. Is it solely amps that matter, or total wattage?
  • Post in thread: DC connector melted while connected to bluetti. salvageable?

So one hot afternoon I went outside to check my bluetti AC30 and found the connector had melted onto the port. I assume that this was due to my lack of due diligence of keeping the connector clean. Is there a way to salvage this? The setup was two 100 watt panels, both Weize, connected in...
  • Post in thread: Apparent power station drain with nothing plugged in

Had my rockpals charging from a solar panel, it stopped at 99%. Brought it in and within a couple of hours saw it had gone down to 87% with nothing plugged into it. So far it's holding there. I normally keep it off when not in use but is this normal? I know that the remaining percentage is not...
  • Post in thread: Apparent power station drain with nothing plugged in

In conclusion, much like loading statuses on computers, 99% doesn't mean 99%. Fully charged it to 100%, and it has held there since.
  • Post in thread: Rockpals 330 solar charging issue

I just got the Rockpals 330 yesterday. Everything works great on it so far except for the solar charging and one of the usb ports. When plugged into an outlet or my 100w panel, it charges at 52w according to the display. When a shadow passes over the panel, power drops. But once in full...
  • Post in thread: Rockpals 330 solar charging issue

The foldable renogy just came in and so far the rockpals is working as it should with it. So either i had a faulty panel, there was a glitch in the station, or i have more to learn. So brief review i guess, initially the panel provides its max rated output according to the station. Now, with my...
  • Post in thread: Rockpals 330 solar charging issue

I've sent rockpals an email about returning it. So now I'm just waiting for a response. While charging it I had nothing plugged into it. It was a clear day, the station had over a 40% charge. Aside from me walking in front of it the panel had full sun. Apparently with some lithium devices...
  • Post in thread: Rockpals 330 solar charging issue

So brief update, i have this awesome little usb fan pointed at the panels, temps have fallen to the 150F range, power output up to 35w. Will be doing a full review on the renogy foldable 50w in the coming days.
