DIY battery bank phone case. How to do this?

My apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask.. But, I would like to DIY a phone case with a built-in additional battery. Preferably Li-Po because they are flat in shape. I don't want to remove my original phone battery. It's new and works well. I just want to take a power bank concept...

Which battery chemistry should I choose for a tiny beginner DIY solar system?

That does make sense. But I would also like to evade the soldering if I can. I will think about it and decide which way to go. Either way I am covered now as I know what are the steps to do it ?

Which battery chemistry should I choose for a tiny beginner DIY solar system?

DThames thanks so much for your trouble! I will get those cells with the screw on them so that there is no need fo soldering. Everything else should stay as you described. It may not be tiny but it will be safer and easier to make :)

Which battery chemistry should I choose for a tiny beginner DIY solar system?

Thank you everyone for your help!! You can't imagine how helpful your replies are! I will most likely be getting a LiFePo4 cell and doing what DThames suggested! Thanks again! This place is a blessing!

EV batteries found with internal heating elements??

96v with 480A means 46Kwh ?? Thats a lot of power! Thanks for explaining. I just watched a YT video of someone explaining parallels and series. It seems like some sort of a witchcraft xD but there must be a good reason based in physics and chemistry as to why one increases the voltage and the...

Which battery chemistry should I choose for a tiny beginner DIY solar system?

I know how to solder. Not much of a professional at it but I learned it from my grandpa and did it often with him. I can make it fast too. Now when it comes to the LiFePo4 cells they just seem too advanced or am I mistaking? Also do they come in cylindrical form? When i google the LiFePo4 all I...

Which battery chemistry should I choose for a tiny beginner DIY solar system?

Sounds like NiMH is a hard no xD hopefully I didn't propose something dangerous there or something like that xD Thanks for your reply! I will keep the battery in its limits under the 4.2v

Which battery chemistry should I choose for a tiny beginner DIY solar system?

So I have decided to finally dive in and try to make a tiny system. I am planning on taking either a NiMH or a Li-ion cell. A single cell will probably be enough. Then wire it with a tiny solar charger in order to charge it. Literally trying to make one of those solar power bank chargers that...

EV batteries found with internal heating elements??

Wow those batteries sound incredibly sophisticated! So basically if the battery gets too cold outside it will start heating itself up? Just a quick question.. When you say 2s 4p does that mean you lined up to cells linearly and 4 of such in parallel? I am still very new to the forum and the...

EV batteries found with internal heating elements??

Did you have some more time to do further testing about how this works? It seems very advanced that they added such a complex feature to the batteries.

Stupid beginner question but how do I power 110v devices if my battery pack is 12 or 24v ?

Thank you everyone for your replies. I thik I get it now.. It was incorrect to assume that everything can be concluded about energy spending by observation of mAh. I am checking out all of the links you posted and further searching everything you wrote. Thanks again for your trouble! This...

Stupid beginner question but how do I power 110v devices if my battery pack is 12 or 24v ?

I assumed something like that is the case. Turning smaller voltage in a higher voltage must drain the battery in the process too.. Thank you for your input! Now onto further learning. I still don't understand properly the whole KWs. Why do we even use Watts when we could use the capacity of...

Stupid beginner question but how do I power 110v devices if my battery pack is 12 or 24v ?

Okay so this is probably something extremely obvious for everyone here.. But if I were to build a battery pack of let's say 12v.. How would I power a household device that needs 110v to function. Lets say a hairdryer that is plugged in a regular outlet and spends 1kw of electricity. Would I...

Pulled The Trigger on a 100ah Battery

Thanks for sharing that! Its very difficult digesting everything about batteries. There are hundreds of things to understand. Its been a month now and I still trying to learn on and off when I get the time. I am thinking about trying to make the most basic DIY project where i take either NiMH...

    Water Pump Wiring

Never would have occurred to me. Thanks for the FYI there. So it is basically like a water boiler only its purpose is to supply the pressure. Man you can learn so much on this forum.
