    New Enphase system questions

The monitor system you use is great, however Enphase Enlighten can tell you exactly what is going on at the individual panel level. AC/DC voltage, current and temperature. With your global monitor system if you had 1 panel/microinverter that dropped 15% in production you do not have a tool to...

Ready to order system after review please

Nice build, the main thing that jumps out is the Overkill 100a BMS is too small. The LV 6548 will need 135a at 48v to provide 6,500w. The BMS should be de-rated down by at least 75%, some de-rate to 50%. With that in mind you would have 100a x .75=75a. Then 48v x 75a = 3,600w available per...

    mount busbars on wood ?

Of course, it's in the shed. After the pieces were cut then sealed with Kilz primer we were good to go, works excellent. I will also use the 1/4 Hardie board for the bottom, back and top of my battery bank.

    mount busbars on wood ?

The Hardyboard is really the best way to go!

    mount busbars on wood ?

The wood backboard is not the problem here, it's the use of an AC ground bus bar for DC power connections. Depending on his batteries and load he could easily push 200 amps. Most inverter specs do call for non-flammable mounting surface for their unit, which is not needed for daily operating...

"Suffice" is not something I want to gamble my house on. ;)

    mount busbars on wood ?

The ground bus you have pictured is only rated for AC ground and neutral connections in a metal enclosure or breaker box. It's only used to rout erroneous AC voltages to your system ground, typically popping a 15a or 20a breaker. They don't have a DC current rating. Better to be safe with an...

    $2948 for (32) (280aH)(New) LiFePO4

    Yes, the math looks likes this: 16 cells = 48v x 280ah = 13.4kwh 32 cells = 48v x 560ah = 26.8kwh (2 x 16 cells in parallel) If you use nominal of 3.2v = 51.2v x 560ah = 28.6kwh. Which is some nice run time for a typical home after daylight hours! ;)

Heltec (JK) 200A Smart BMS with 2A Active Balance

Sometimes these need a wake-up call. Try a quick short between B- and P-, then try unplugging & reconnecting the balance connector.

    MPP LV6548 Build

Hey Dan, take a look at the IronRidge XR Rail system, excellent engineering and a bonded grounding system. I just DIY installed the rail system and 36 Mission Solar 350w panels. It was my Covid "vacation" project! I did finally get my 15 yr old son to help me set & wire panels on the 2-story...

    MPP LV6548 Build

Have you had the chance to check the individual capacity of these Lishen 272ah cells? I'm planning to build a similar system and these are looking good.

    RV Roof Panels

2000w is really good for an RV, but if you needed a bit more power the portable ground-based (foldable) units work well and can be moved out to the optimum sun spots when your campsite is in the shade.
