Hey Thingol, I'm thinking of buying Sunpal panels. Are they still working well for you? Looks like they're UL listed but I can't find reviews on quality or performance ANYWHERE!
Are they legit? Tech looks really cool. No requirement for identical current sharing cable lengths or necessary to share batteries.

interesting...just auto-sync to the 60 Hz signal?...that would provide incredible flexibility, BUT how would that work when connecting grid and generator for backup? The idea would be max self consumption with solar and battery and then fall back to grid when insufficient and then fall back to...
Exactly tim, in essence it would be multiple microgrids connected...the comms would enable them to sync on the same 60 Hz signal as well as share battery state of charge
Know of any off grid inverters 3kw-12kw that only shares communications and no current sharing wires? I'm looking for each system to be "an island" independent of one another...and easily scalable.
why do do they all seem to have series of panel model with 5 watt differences?? Is that what they were tested near and they separate them into categories?
Do utilities actually agree to operate as a standby service? That'd be great. I'd totally pay a larger per KWH charge if I didn't need to pay the base rate!
Do most utilities require notice if you're going to cut the cord downstream of the service entry shutoff and wire it into an off grid inverter as a backup to a self-consumption systems with NO grid feedback?
I know (and will) research with local utilities but just wondering how it generally...
