Yes, John, it would have been. Thank you for pointing it out lol. It's been a pretty tough summer for lots of reasons. And this week knowing I was an idiot on top of everything is a tough pill to swallow as well. Just doing what I can to recover and get back on track and try to run my business...

Perhaps I should have included that there is a transfer switch, and it was designed and at least seemed to be running at one time completely independent of the grid. I have not 'registered' this or licensed through the local evil and corrupt power company, so it's not feeding the grid at all.

Thanks @Mattb4, already tried that :(

Here in PR, if a tradesman doesn't have those skills they aren't going to have a lot of business. It's not like the USA where everyone is specialized and does one thing and one thing only, which means we have a lot of generalists and these types of projects are tough.

so this is actually the second inverter we've had, the first was a 24V and the latest technician upgraded to this 48V one. I've removed almost all the load, and would be happy if it ran a fridge, a ceiling fan, a box fan, and an extension cord to charge electronics, mostly power battery packs...

we disconnected everything, turned everything including all breakers and switches off in sequence, and reconnected everything and turned everything back on.

yes, it's perhaps looking like that. I asked elsewhere in this if there was a plug-n-play solution I can begin to look for?

@Hedges, wouldn't that be great? The technician that swapped it out said that there was an issue, and he took it to a repairman (supposedly) to fix, and just before he went MIA he said it had been unreparable. Yes, I have been taken for a ride. But if it's any consolation truly 50%+ of the...

If I were to buy something like this I think maybe we could figure it out....it seems to be pretty much like the old system: https://ebay.to/3xK94Qs

does anyone know any technicians where I could send the faulty inverter to be repaired? or I don't know if there's any value to sell as is?
  • Post in thread: Frustrated in Puerto Rico?

Hello all, I have a small system (8 plates, 8 batteries). I'm a bit ashamed to say it hasn't been operational for several years. I do know a new inverter is needed, and perhaps the batteries aren't working either (and perhaps something else). Working with an external person isn't an option...

Hi all! I'm in Puerto Rico baking in 110 degree heat, five days post-Hurricane Fiona with no real hope for power restoration in the near future. My solar system wasn't working for a few weeks (months?) before the storm. Nothing got wet, but when we tried to power everything on afterwards, it...

I do not, but there are people in my life who do lol. But, the batteries have been connected and charging for days now. Why would they be dead?
  • Post in thread: From Puerto Rico: Day 5 after Hurricane Fiona, help?

Batteries seem charged, ranging from 7.18 to 7.43: https://photos.app.goo.gl/G5NgvYviXpzzd9sKA
  • Post in thread: From Puerto Rico: Day 5 after Hurricane Fiona, help?

OK, I don't really know what that means lol? The grid doesn't exist these days in Puerto Rico so no possibility for that. How to begin to diagnose an inverter problem and what are the solutions?
  • Post in thread: Frustrated in Puerto Rico?

Hi, yes, one is a certified electrician....but with almost no knowledge of solar systems (he's more the cement and chipping hammer old school type lol).

RE: manual/spec sheet. @Hedges, it's true, I've searched as well. It seems to be a counterfeit model based on this comparable model or at least LED display: https://usamppsolar.com/product/lvx-6048-hybrid/ with this manual: https://watts247.com/manuals/mpp/PIP-LVX6048WP/LVX6048WP-manual.pdf...
