I haven’t hooked up the BMS yet as I have an 8S Daley they I thought I couldn’t use until in 24v configuration. I thought that since this thing has balancing, then I’ll do this, get them set, then add the BMS and put back into van.

Well sadly this has become moot now. I was putting the bus bars back on to the. connect the balance cables. Something must have snuck under one of the bars. I now have melted terminal posts across 3 cells. ?. Guess I’m going back to a single 4p pack… assuming THOSE aren’t fried too.

Is 27 -> 26.4 (70%) considered the top? ?‍♀️ I have noticed it's been on 26.4 all night though, that that is definitely reassuring. I see what you mean on the curves, and I guess I had only looked at that from a Charge perspective, and not discharge. Makes sense now.

So I used it in power supply mode for a solid 24hrs afterwards to have the Q8 charge my cells. Not sure if your scenario is longer than that.

To close off thread, Lithium setting worked fine. Power supply mode to the Q8 was good.

I'll check again in the morning, but I'm pretty sure its 4 AWG (worst case 6 awg) welding cable, and no more than 18". I set the Growatt to a combined 120A charge limit, but with Sun out, I get 8A at max (300W of panels on roof)
