    Pre charging Multiplus 3000W

Thanks. The switch is isolated. Lead and LFP never parallel. Going from 1 to 2 probably goes faster than using a resistor and then turning the switch.

    Pre charging Multiplus 3000W

I have a Victron Multiplus 3000W with 2xSOK 280Ah installed in a boat. That means I switch off the main battery switch when I do not use the boat. So Multiplus is disconnected. Is there any pre charge circuits built in to the batteries? How long does the capacitors stay charged? As my...

    Wire size parallel

Agree. I used 2/0 between a 280Ah/12V and a 3000 W inverter in my RV. Works flawless. But in a boat I need to comply with ABYC so better to follow the recommendation's…….

    Wire size parallel

Hi guys, I’m installing 2 x 280Ah batteries in parallel on my boat. Have been running 4/0 marine wires (105C) between battery fuse (400 Ah) and Victron Multiplus 12v/120A/3000W. Typical high draw will be 1800 W when induction top is used. (But would like to size system for the 3000W...

connecting an inverter: spark prevention / reduction

I watched Will on one of his Youtube videos. His recommendation was to use the resistor on the negative side? I have always done on the positive side. Does it matter?

    Headaches with Daly BMS.

If you do not let the voltage go up more than (3.4V) cells will most probably be balanced. If you go higher you end up in the knee and your Delta V starts increasing very fast.

    Headaches with Daly BMS.

The BMS is a passive on/off switch. The spikes are coming from your alternator. I would check terminal connections. Bad connections will not be obvious when charging with a low current. Charging with a High output alternator can cause balance problems if you have bad connections. I would...

    Headaches with Daly BMS.

What regulator do you have for your alternator? What voltage is it putting out normally?

    What is considered normal/acceptable Delta V ?

They are in service since a year. Have no problems. My question is more academic in order to understand what you can expect if buing matched Grade A cells. I think the seller was Varicore.

    What is considered normal/acceptable Delta V ?

I have EVE 280 Ah cells that I bought on AliExpress. Did top balance the cells @ 3.65V. I charge them to 3.475 (13.9V) with 2 hours of absorbtion. Delta V goes to 55 mV. The Daly BMS is the only balancing that take place. My question: What is considered an acceptable Delta V for matched...

Daly Smart BMS not registering small loads

One of the problems with the early BMS:s was parasitic current draw. I know a number of people that came back to their boats after 12 month in storage and did find the battery bank empty (destroyed) because of parasitic current draw from the BMS. i do not know what the current draw is from the...

Daly Smart BMS not registering small loads

I think this setting ”Defittercurr” controls the sleep mode of the BMS? Disconnected everything from the BMS. The Amps that the BMS register cycles between -0.1 to 0.3A. Not sure what it is measuring as there is nothing connected. BMS has not gone in to sleep mode since I changed the setting...

Daly Smart BMS not registering small loads

Thanks Sharky? Your information was 100% correct. Digged out an old Windows laptop from the closet and downloaded Sinowealth software. Dfittercurr was set to 2000mA on my 200A BMS. Changed it to 100mA and BMS started to read small loads. I bet this also means that the BMS also will start...

    Upgrade LiFePO4 BMS to "Manageable"

Instead of changing the BMS it would be easier and cheaper to install a RC Cellmeter 7? Just drill a small hole for the sensor cables.
