Nice! So it seems like we’ve got two real drop in replacements for the 54” RY48140 between the chins and vatrer. I don’t see how the vatrer is worth the extra $700+, though, maybe I’m missing something
That’s been my assumption as well. A physical safety measure to prevent ripping the charger off the wall or breaking the charge port. Just wanted to ask in case I was missing some potential catastrophic electrical issue with having the charger plugged in and mower on.
I actually do this quite...
Awesome! Thanks for the reporting back @Salmon! Really great to see a true drop in work!
Did you keep the stock monitor hooked up, or just disconnect it altogether?
Also how’s the runtime compared to the 115aH stock batteries the 54” comes with?
I went ahead and got the vatrer battery for my 54”. It’s charging now but as I reread through the thread I’m confused why I need to even mess with the blue wire coming from the charge relay lockout circuit. I have to be missing something.
I plan on hooking up the lifepo4 charge port to the...

I see there’s also a method here —...
@Salmon thank you for exploring this and providing your thoughts on the common drop ins suggested. I also am very interested in a drop in for my 54” ZT model that won’t require a pre-charge circuit.
Curious though, where do you see that the Vatrer battery has 700A peak? I’m seeing the rating...
Thanks just assembled it up exactly as it was (minus the original thermistor cable off positive) and it functionally seems to work as expected! Hoping this week I can give it a good run once I figure out mounting.
I too am wondering about this on off button. I’m assuming/hoping it can just stay on…
