Would this be dangerous? Or just very inefficent.

Yes, that would be a great idea. If I can't find a solution to having a ton of parallel panels that could be a future plan. I've made a couple of discoveries. I found a pwm controller that seems to accept 40 amps which means I would only need 2 charge controllers. It says 1920w of pv input...

Would this be dangerous? Or just very inefficent.

Thanks for all of the ideas. I will experiment with a few things and see what I can come up with. I see that renogy makes a rover boost box that allows charging of a 48v battery from a very low voltage. But again it seems to be limited to 10amps. The simplest way is probably just multiple...

Would this be dangerous? Or just very inefficent.

Thanks very much for all of the help guys. My voc is 24.3 Vmp is 20.4 Maybe I could swap the battery for a 12v 200ah to get the same size as 24v100ah and then my volts will be high enough to charge ir? Or would that then be way too much? My other options seem to be multiple mttp controllers...

Thanks. Do you mean limit it over time or stop it peaking over 24v? Can the battery bms stop charging at highest desirable charge? Then refuse any further volts or charge? Or not possible?

Would this be dangerous? Or just very inefficent.

Hi, thanks I have 26 100w panels left to slot into odd places here. Each panel has voc of 24v. I can have the battery more or less in the centre in a small shed. The majority of the panels I can get within 30ft some will be 40 to 60ft away. Some spaces can fit 2 panels but again due to bushes...

Would this be dangerous? Or just very inefficent.

Hi, Due to my garden having lots of trees and bushes ( mostly neighbours that I cant chop down). There are just small spaces remaining now where I can sneak in a few small panels here and there. They get sun at different times. I really want to feed this all into one battery pack. So need...

How to lower amps and raise volts from parallel pv arrays to cope with shade? I'm confused.

Thanks for help. I now know to forget finding such a device and just find either the mttp withheld highest pv amp receiver or link multiple mttp controllers. Just in case anyone reads this that knows of an mttp controller that can handle 60 to 100amps Pv input then please can you post the...

How to lower amps and raise volts from parallel pv arrays to cope with shade? I'm confused.

Hi, thanks for your reply. My main problem is that with combining so many strings in parallel my combined amps are growing to near 60amps and will be at 80amps with my new strings. I though maybe a device to lower amps and just raise the V would be possible. I think though maybe you told me...

How to lower amps and raise volts from parallel pv arrays to cope with shade? I'm confused.

Hi, I've been trying to find a solution to my problem of being limited to small series panel strings due to shade issues. So I have lots of small arrays dotted around my garden. To be precise I now have arranged them so that I have 6 strings of 3x175w in series. The output is around VOC 63...

Hi, can you put parallel strings in parallel?

Thanks very much for the information. Yes, I will try to get a large victron or different all in one to allow for this. Luckily my current bluetti eb series can cope with one fridge per unit.

Hi, can you put parallel strings in parallel?

Yes, I wish I'd done that now. I noticed some cheap deals on prime day on the 175w for just over 100 pounds and bought quite a few more. Should have researched a lot more before diving in. I need to research if i can find way to merge larger panels in with what I have or if i really need to...

Hi, can you put parallel strings in parallel?

Thanks. Yes. I see now I will keep these bluetti for a camper van and try and accumulate more funds to move to some plyontech batteries with a victron all in one with the most powerful charge controller and inverter I can get. I think if I cover both my other buildings in solar panels I can...

Hi, can you put parallel strings in parallel?

Thanks. Yes I see. I didnt realise it had an amps restriction at 10amps. This explains it. Because even at peak sun 3 panels only hit 180watts. So it was only accepting 2 panels. It also has a 60 volts limit. So I get errors if I put 3 in series. But thanks you've helped me understand what...

Hi, can you put parallel strings in parallel?

Thanks, yes that is what I was trying to achieve. 6 panels in parallel with the volts of just one panel but the watts accumulated. I will run more checks on my cables tomorrow. Maybe I have some bad 2 into 1 cables. If that doesn't not work I have seen some 6 into 1 adapters it will just look...

Hi, can you put parallel strings in parallel?

Hello, Thanks for the answer. I think I haven't explained it very well the first time I tried. I have 3 panels all plugged in to a 3 into 1 adapter. Then I have that exactly the same again. Then I tried to connect both of those with a 2 into 1 adapter. Maybe that isnt possible. So...
