    UL Batteries

Thank you for these words of wisdom.

    UL Batteries

If you look 'UL Source' column in the spreadsheet I posted you should notice that the UL source for all 4 of the lowest cost$/kWhours are NOT the California's website... I don't know the processes/procedures to get that site updated nor how long of a lag any updates may have... Also please be...

    Texas garage corner solar setup

Our current house is in North Texas and we have ranged from approx -2 to 112 outside the lowest I have seen inside is around 20 degrees & the hottest around 100. The corner of my garage where the electrical panels is right by the garage door which currently is not insulated & is basically just...

    Two EG4 6500 EX-48 to two A510C Pro/Tran 2 Transfer Switches

Edit: I ordered and have here in my office one of the '50 Amp A510C Pro/Tran 2 Transfer Switches' just so I could study it and make sure it would work as I was hoping. I am very pleased with it and plan to get another if we pull the trigger with a full solar implementation on our new roof. We...

    Bidirectional storage with EV.

Thanks so much for sharing. Until the industry gets to the point that V2H (at least for emergencies) is standard & seamless it is great that we have folks like you taking the time to document your solutions...

    Bidirectional storage with EV.

If I pursued something like this I likely would be doing it with a somewhat older one off lease/warranty. Personally I wouldn't be planning on making powering my home from my vehicle battery a part of my daily routine (unless the vehicle was designed for that) but I would definitely like a safe...

    Bidirectional storage with EV.

Intrigued. Having extra battery storage in an emergency could be priceless... To me the primary reason for any energy storage at home is for the safety of my family and any possible economic benefit/dynamic is "just gravy"... I read some of your Vanabolt posts/threads... While intriguing...

    New EG4-8KEXP-240 Inverter

As discussed in this post & subsequent replies: "I am not a solar expert but did my best to review the Spec Sheet & the User Guide & it to me it looks like it supports / recommends: 190A Charging/Discharging DC Current with Batteries (with 200A breaker); 33.3A Nominal AC Current Output to Grid...

New EG4 8K spilt phase inverter

That would be great to confirm & know for sure whether the Grid line to the inverter is bi-directional. I am not an expert on this stuff & was assuming that Load2 was back to the main panel. If the grid line is bidirectional & the Load2 goes down when the grid is down then I am not sure what...

    New EG4-8KEXP-240 Inverter

I am not an expert but conceptually to me the big advantage is that the EG4-8KEXP-240 can be Grid Tied such that excess Solar could be fed out to the grid & thus use the utility company "like a battery" for any excess power generated from Solar... If your 12KW of PV produced extra energy during...

New EG4 8K spilt phase inverter

I am not a solar expert but did my best to review the Spec Sheet & the User Guide & it to me it looks like it supports / recommends: 190A Charging/Discharging DC Current with Batteries (with 200A breaker); 33.3A Nominal AC Current Output to Grid (with 40A breaker); 36.7A Maximum AC Current...

DLG E-BOX 48100R, testing and tinkering.

Has anyone bought these batteries from here (currently they are $1,200 USD) ? : https://www.globalsources.com/LiFePO4-battery/Solar-Battery-1190910609p.htm What countries have you had them shipped to and how expensive was the shipping ?

    MPP-Solar LVX-6048

Is SUB short for providing power to loads priority-wise first from Solar, then Utility, then Battery? If you have grid power & set SUB & the sun goes down does the inverter switch to just bypass mode to provide power from Utility only and shut down the inverter & thus have less Watts...

    UL Batteries

The report for SOK's UL 1973 certification for their cost effective 48 Volt (51.2 Nominal) 100Ah, 5.12 kWh server rack battery has been released in draft form. Final version expected this month (October 2022). The report & ETA are discussed in the web based owner's manual on page 1-4...

EG4 - why no one connects AC input?

I could be wrong but you may be able to keep your grid power & house circuits in your main panel & just add 2 outbound circuits from your main panel into the two EG4 6500s and then feed the EG4 6500s outputs to one or more Transfer Switches (instead of moving all your circuits to a sub-panel)...
