I also connected to the 4 pin comm port. Rather than take the wifi logger apart, I simply used the female end of jumper wires that came with a TTL interface. They fit snugly over the pins on the comm port, and while it's not pretty, it's definitely good enough for now.

Update: I powered down the inverter again last night without changing any settings and it started charging properly. I had a suspicion that the cause may have been related to making settings changes from Solar Assistant, so I attempted to replicate the issue but nothing I did caused it to stop...

Update on the inaccurate PV current readings: I started recording some data and put together this graph showing the discrepancy between what the inverter reported and what I measured. At the low end (between 0-1.2a), the reported numbers are about 50% off my measured values. The discrepancy...

They also balked at including the parallel cables for free, but I went with a bus bar setup instead since that seemed like the recommended way to wire them. I will say that SGP provides a very sturdy metal wall bracket that works like a french cleat. I haven't mounted mine yet, but this will...

I played with the TOU settings when I first deployed mine. I hope what I learned might help you: Advanced mode (16-1) needs to be anything but disabled for any of the other settings in 16 to take effect. You probably want SFC. BuySell TOU (16-2-2) needs to be enabled (naturally). The other 16-2...

What app is this that allows you to make changes to the MR settings? I don't recall seeing this functionality in any of the solarman apps (at least on IOS anyhow).

Since DCDC shows "Charge", the inverter must be interpreting the settings to mean that you want it to be charging at that time. Now the Battery status shows "D", which I think means the BMS is telling it that only discharge mode is allowed now. If the BMS had charging enabled, it should show "C...

The SOC in the timeslots are what you want the inverter to trend to, so for the on-peak times they should be low (like 20%). A high value like what you've set means you want it to charge up to 90%. But you should know that even if you set the on-peak SOC to 20%, the 5kw power setting will cause...

Yes, the buttons protrude just a few mm on the front side, but the rear has the mounting brace and bracket that adds about and inch to the overall depth.

The included cables are about 5ft. They look identical to these that they sell for daisy chaining, except that one end is an 8mm lug.

I am completely new to storage but decided to give SunGoldPower a chance, especially since their office and warehouse are only a 70 minute drive away. I ordered the 2 pack of their server rack battery last month. After weeks of delays due to them being back-ordered (which they disclosed only...
  • Post in thread: Megarevo RxLNA Discussion

I acquired an RKLNA a few weeks ago and spent many hours reading through this and related threads to get the settings dialed in. My latest pressing issue is that the inverter seems to always want to charge the batteries, even past 100% and triggering their over-volt protection! Here are the...

I updated to v24 firmware (the 09.19.23 file from EG4) in hopes to improving charging compatibility with my batteries, but now I'm having problems getting it to charge at all! My current settings: Work Mode: Battery priority (to force charging) Charge Current: 10a Advanced mode: Disabled I'm...

Yes, I've played with them in the past but found that for my primary use case (battery backup during frequent power outages) that I don't really need them. I've since set advanced mode to disabled, which per my understanding should make any other options there moot.

What does the "DCDC" line in the "State" status screen show now? The options I've seen include "Charge", "Discharge", and "Standby". However, I've been chasing a problem where it shows "Charge" but doesn't actually push any current (the "Power" status screen shows less than 30w for the battery)...
  • Post in thread: Home Assistant to Solar Assistant integration using Megarevo R8KLNA inverters

I've been using the MQTT integration between Solar Assistant and Home Assistant for months now. It's unfortunate that the SA beta only allows 5 parameters to be set from HA, and the only useful one is the work mode. The other 4 are grid voltage high/low and gride frequency high/low, and I can't...
  • Post in thread: Megarevo RxLNA Discussion

I've only had mine for a couple of months, but I share your concern about the fans being on whenever the inverter is active. I've been putting the inverter in standby most nights by switching the battery comms to a port that's not connected. The primary reason for doing this is to reduce idle...
  • Post in thread: EG4 8k firmware update 09.19.23

This looks like a graph from solarman, which I have limited experience with since I switched to Solar Assistant soon after moving my PV to the Megarevo. The other obvious source of DC power would be the batteries, so could it just be that the inverter pulled that extra power from the batteries?
  • Post in thread: Sungoldpower SG48100M

From a PC connected to the RS232 port on pack 1, I used the SOK tools downloaded from the Current Connected website and was able to see all the data from the batteries. This confirmed for me that the RS485 cable between the 2 batteries allowed them to communicate with each other. I'm also using...

I have a white-labeled unit running v23 but would like to update to this newer firmware for the BMS Pylon feature. Is the generic firmware different from the EG4 releases, e.g. allowing Signature Solar rather than Megarevo to make settings changes?
  • Post in thread: EG4 8k firmware update 09.19.23

Silly question, but are you sure the time on the MR is correct? I can't think of any other explanation why it would start charging with that much power (about 130a?) at such an odd time.
  • Post in thread: EG4 8k firmware update 09.19.23

Did you have TOU enabled after midnight, and if so, were the timeslot settings the same as what you previously listed? Based on my current understanding, I would try setting a single TOU timeslot for super off-peak with SOC at 90%. Leave the other timeslots unused at 0:00-0:00. With SFC...
