Thank you for your comments. This is my point. There is no support for the Inverters. Ordinarily there should be some form of guidance from the manufacturer, but this is not the case here. You are left with trial and error. Like you said it is about continuous fiddling. And that gets tiring...
Thank you all for the responses.
The BMS cut off the discharge. So hopefully that was done at a safe SOC.
The expectation was for the Inverters to have done that which did not happen since it was set at 42V.
I will monitor the batteries for a week. Fingers crossed.
@timselectric
I think I am getting more clarity. Please look at the attached.
I have 642W being pulled from PV, 509W from the Grid, Charging is using 425W and 468W being consumed. From your post it appears .... the Grid is powering consumption in Bypass mode while it is the PV ONLY charging...
I am still observing. I have turned down the voltages as well. Now at 57,55, 45.

Also look here. Appears similar to my case.
Hello all .... Would like to revisit the USE vs USR2
I have 2 Growatt 5000 ES installed in Parallel with 2 x Blue Carbon 48V 200Ah Lithium Battery Pack For Solar Home System. PVs are Mono 10 x 550W. 5 panels each in series to each Inverter. Priority is set to Solar, Utility and Battery.
I...
I am recently observing a fault with my Growatt 5000 ES charging behavior.
My Charge Source Priority is set to SNU – Solar and Utility.
However, over the last few weeks – Solar is restricting the power being pulled from the Utility source. Prior to this Solar and Utility would always combine...
Thank you for your response. Do you have any documentation on this? I have had my system for over 6 months and I have certainly observed over 1000W going into the battery at the same time from BOTH PV and Grid - Concurrently. I do stand to be corrected.
Thank you @timselectric .
How long do you think this should take to balance? There is minimal load on the batteries on a day to day. They are strictly for back up.
Are there other things that can be done to accelerate the balancing?
Or should I just leave things as they are if there is no...

We have quite frequent power cuts that results in Batteries...
Thank you @timselectric. I could most certainly use any help I can. Thank you for offering. Please let me know how to get in touch and a good time. I am currently in Barcelona but will return home over the weekend.
The other point on the overcharging is that this happens only when the PV is charging. I shut down the Grid source before leaving home this week. So this tells me the Charge controller is not working right. Only option to further explore is to calibrate the Voltage reading between the Batteries...
Please provide more direction here. I have a 48V Lithium Battery ... https://www.bctvnergy.com/lithium-battery/48v-lifepo4-battery/48v-200ah-lithium-lifepo4-deep-cycle.html. With 2 GW 5000 ES in Parallel. Voltage is off on the Inverter vs the Battery LCD Readings by about 2V ! So the Inverter...
Not sure how to verify the battery cell readings. However I also notice a 1.5V difference in the Voltage reading on the Batteries vs what is showing up on Inverters. Inverters are reading higher voltage than the batteries. So, can this be calibrated or adjusted ? So when the Inverter is reading...
Dear all,
My Low DC cut-off voltage is resetting and allowing only 42 V. This is a new situation. So not sure what is going on. The settings for the key parameters are:
1 Output source priority: To configure load power source priority– SUB
2 Maximum charging current: – 80A
5 Battery type – USE...
Hello ... I have 2 of these batteries. 48V 200ah. With Growatt 5000 ES Inverters. Please kindly advise on how you set up the Bulk and Float Charging Values. The Inverter Voltage is also out of synch with the Batteries. Inverter shows 75% SOC while the battery is at 54.4 V which should be 100%...
Thank you for the comments. I have noted the comments re. 30A. I have the Technician coming in tomorrow. However, I have attached 2 pictures. One for the Wiring from the Batteries and one for the Wiring from the Grid and the Internal distribution board. Please do note ... this issue only occurs...
I am off grid i.e. I am not sending power to the Grid. But I get power from the Grid and PV. My issue has also involved the installation. I have slowly worked my way past the installation issues (breakers, wire gauge and so on).
The persistent issue now is that the Growatt continuously...
Replying further Battery to Inverter Run is less than 6 Meters. Inverters are at most 2 Meters from the Distribution Board. You may have a point on the Grid Voltage. I have attached additional pictures.
Hi Radurus... I'm in interested in your set up. Please kindly provide links and or guidelines. I've been using Shinephone but would like to set up the alerts via Solar assistant.
Thank you @benjieg.
You are correct %SOC from the Inverter is hit and miss. Goes from 100% to 75% back to 100% within 30 mins with no Load !.
Do you happen to have a Voltage to SOC or % Capacity Table for this Battery.
Re. 55.2 for Bulk ... the Battery Specs allows Standard Charging voltage...
Hello @Alooma .. Something to note. As long as you have PV you cant charge from Grid. The only way to accelerate charging from the Grid is to turn off the PV. Even though the setting is SNU. It's not Solar and Utility at the same time. @timselectric explained this quite well in one of my...
Hello Friends,
I am trying to confirm my Growatt FW version. But the numbers I am getting are very different from what is posted online. Please assist. Is there a different way to get the FW?? Please confirm.
@timselectric Thank you. That FW came with the Inverter and that was installed about 9 months ago. The latest FW as posted by others in the last few months is 41++ or in that range. Something doesn't seem right.
I have 2 x Growatt ES Inverters as well. The Growatt apps - Mobile and Web show the Batteries jumping from 75% - 100% - 75% within 15 mins with no load on the batteries. Please share guidelines on calibrating Growatt Readings with Batteries' Voltage. Thank you.
Wow. I thought it was too low.
Setting 11 - Maximum Utility Charging Current is set to 30A (Range is 0 - 80A)
OK. Will try this out. But please explain why this could help. Sorry. Newbie.
Hello all,
Please assist with some information on changing inverter settings using the Shinephone app.
1 - Is there anything I need to do on the inverter before or after changing the settings via the Shinephone. i.e. System is running now. Is it OK to just update the settings and the inverter...

@timselectric thank you again. Yes. It worked ! I set 12 to 48 and it accepted 46V for 21. I didnt think it was relevant to the other parameters. Do I need to adjust 13?

Thank you solardad. Good questions. No. They do not restart. The inverters are programmed not to restart. I recycle the system - turn off the inverters and batteries and inverter breakers and then restart and switch them back on. This usually resets everything. Yes. Batteries are full charged...
Thank you for your Response.
Yes. I have gone ahead and reset the parameters. Doing the updates for both inverters separately. The inverters are in parallel and in the same Plant. The updates were effective immediately and I verified this from the Inverters.
The Shinephone app lets you update...

Thank you so much. One last question. Does this mean I can set PV charge current much higher than Grid charge as you've noted earlier. How come PV has a different effect compared to Grid. Many many thanks for your Time.
So PV 60a and Grid 20a. Max combined 80.??
It is possible it is an over voltage. There could be an inaccurate match between Inverter voltage readings and Battery actual voltage.
My settings are as follows all other parameters are default for 5000 ES.
1 Output source priority: To configure load power source priority– SUB
2 Maximum...
Thank you Jay. The reason for SUB is that my priority is for power availability not to reduce cost. We have significant brown/black outs where I am. So SUB ensure 100% of availability. Cost of Power is also not that significant so Solar, Utility before Battery makes more sense for me in this...
Hello all,
I have 2 LiPO 48v 200ah batteries in parallel with a 2 Growatt SPF 5000 ES Inverters in parallel.
Inverters shut down with Error The battery voltage/SOC is too low. Technician has been in and we traced the fault to Low DC Voltage been set to 42V rather than 47V. So Inverter failed...

Thank you all for your responses: To address the questions asked.
Setting 16 on 5000 ES is Backlight control. Setting #4 is disabled i.e. Default.
Since the inverter will only pull power needed from the PVs, Is it possible the shutdown is caused from the Battery overcharging.? Unfortunately...
