    Batteries in the cabin

Ensure all your wires are secured properly and there is no chance of a short circuit. Improperly installed wiring and accessories would be the biggest danger of it being in the cabin. While installing lithium in our boat I could not get past this, so I put them in the lazarette. Didn't want...

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller 100/20 for 12v 335w LG Panel?

Talking about future expansion. If you have room you will likely expand, having power is addictive. You say 100/20 for a 24 volt system but you said you have a 12 volt system on your boat. For a 12 volt system You will need double the amperage the calculator is saying for 24 volts.

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller 100/20 for 12v 335w LG Panel?

Even the Victron controllers do not like being up near max. If you have room for more panels go for the 100/50. You wont regret it. I started with 200w, went to 400w and now am at 690w. Ended up buying three different controllers.

Solar Bimini - what's the best panel?

Mariner Blue, Hard panels seem to be the best. I have had four 100 watt Renogy panels on my boat for the past seven years. They have worked great and put out 400w to this day. Upgrading to two 345 bifacials this year for more power and building a hard top for it. An arch is one of the best...

LiFePO4 Battery 12V 400Ah Lithium Battery - Built-in 250A BMS, 2000+ Cycles, Each battery Can Support 5120W Power Output, Perfect for RV, Solar, Home

You realize that you are doubling your usable power with 400ah of lithium, correct? Two separate batteries let you disconnect one of them in case of failure and still have power. We have a C&C 34, great performance but how did your 35 handle off shore for weeks at a time?

    Sailboat power installation

645 watts of solar fits on a C&C 34. It uses up my entire bimini top, but what else am I going to use that for? Don't see much problem with a larger bank. You can always use more power if you want to cycle your batteries.

    Retail Pickup locations

Thanks for the thread. This helped me out quite a bit. Ended up buying two LG345 bifacial panels form CED Greentech and it was only an hour drive. Ended up being cheaper as there was no shipping. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Renogy Stuff on Sale at Battery Hookup

They agreed to refund my money and said it would take 48 hours to process it, that was 10 days ago. Still no refund. Had to escalate with PayPal. They did send a return label for the wrong battery and arranged shipping. I would avoid this company.

12v100ah for 55lb Thrust Trolling Motor?

Where are you using this boat? Lake, river or ocean? Where you use it makes a huge difference. It is highly unlikely you are going to motor 2 hours at full power. Most new trolling motors have warnings about using them at high power levels for long periods of time anyway. The motor can be...
