  • Post in thread: Pouch Compression wiki review

IMHO following is not very clear: "Below 72°F the effect is linear. Over 72°F the effect becomes exponentially negative." Does the "exponentially negative effect" refer to the capacity fade that will become bigger over 72°F ? Or to the effect of compressing ?
  • Post in thread: MPP PIP (5048GK / MGX or MAX) Do they feed the Grid or not (or just a little bit) ?

Se several post I found on other forums indicate that the high PV voltage models (>400V) of MMP PIP converters do under certain circumstance feed back into the grid. As far as I understand when the AC OUT side load for whatever reason drops suddenly, some burst are fed back. Based on that I...
  • Post in thread: Anyone have experience with Elfeland Aliexpress cells?

I'm also wondering whether anyone has experiences with them. They offer right now 271AH cells (3% less then 280AH) for 17% cheaper then their 280AH cells for only 198$ shipment to Switzerland (32 cells !)...
  • Post in thread: Hello from Switzerland/Paraguay

I have been back forth between Switzerland - Paraguay the last 10 years staying there up to 8 months at times. Now the point is reaching to make a more final move. It has been an adventure. Some challenges but for me personally over all it is pretty cool. I like to build and experiment...
  • Post in thread: MPP PIP 7248-MAX: solar input (8000W) vs charger (4860W) question

Hi Snoobler Thx for your answer. I think I get that part of the spec; the PV input. So now 8000w total are coming in, but it can only put 62V * 80A = 4960W into the battery ?
  • Post in thread: MPP PIP 7248-MAX: solar input (8000W) vs charger (4860W) question

Thx for the clarification. I didn't realize its 2 MPPT means input & output.
  • Post in thread: MPP PIP 7248-MAX: solar input (8000W) vs charger (4860W) question

Hi Looking at the MPP PIP 7248-MAX specs, they both offer 8000W solar input and max bulk/float charge of 62V at max 80A = 4960W I'm struggling here. Does it mean this inverter wouldn't be able to use the full potential solar gain (8000W) for charging the battery when no load is present ...
  • Post in thread: MPP PIP (5048GK / MGX or MAX) Do they feed the Grid or not (or just a little bit) ?

Hi I'm planning my own system in a rural developing country location. I grid available and I would like to use it for load and battery charging when Solar is not enough. But I DON'T want to feedback to the grid at all. My understanding was that the MMP PIP models (I'm interested in 5048GK, MGX...
  • Post in thread: Hello from Switzerland/Paraguay

Hello All I' from Switzerland and planning to move this year to a rural area in Paraguay. I will be building my main place with shipping containers and want to add a solar system. At this location I have grid access, so very likely I will go with a hybrid system (hybrid sources, no grid back...
