All sounds so much firmware issue Got a Solis S5-EH1P with 2 Dyness A48100. At night, as a result of normal discharge of the batteries, when the battery reaches the SOC I’ve specified in the Solis to stop discharging and use the grid, the batteries “leak” 62w constantly until it gets to the...

But that not hoot for battery longevity , right? Why doesn’t the Solis respect the 20% specified instead? Firmware issues here .
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Not insisting. I am only saying what I am seeing reported by the Solis and the *Dyness Battery*. During the summer there's always charge anyways, months since I have seen the 20% and 0W consumption.
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Asimov fan is back Not touching any cables no more ! However, as mentioned, when the battery goes back up to 20% from 17% the battery goes to 0W consumption , as reported by the Dyness external device, and the Solis inverter also reports that. Whatever that means it means. That must mean the...

an agent over the phone did apply it remotely Ring Solis UK, tell them that your inverter reads cuadruple the wats when feeding the inverter with DC and under the SoC. If the product is meant to be on 15-20W standby why does it read almost 70W? I have a dongle for my batteries and they were...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

If it helps anyone out there: S5 EH1P 6K L 2 x Dyness A48100 , total 9.6Kw Firmware updated by Solis : A10037 (original 3D0037) The wattage figure mismatch seem to be fixed all over. I can now see 24W, 19W or 14W, 9W the same as what my Dyness battery app tells me (was 62W before displayed on...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

But, do you manage to see it on standby (grey icon 0W for battery at 15% remaining battery) or does it trickle down some Wats with the battery icon in purple until it reaches forcecharge and same again? That’s the key I think. If your settings don’t get the battery to standby I think my...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Is just the battery drains 0W to house and inverter , solis app would put that icon in grey and that is battery standby mode. Right now the only way I have been able to see it triggered is after a backup reserve mode charge, as on my 2 tests above. Also, if disabling the charging from grid (not...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

I get you guys... but something else must be happening because I get 0W usage reported by Battery monitoring, 0W usage reported by Solis App and the inverter is working overnight without problem. Proof on the pics I've uploaded. I have Solis S5-EH1P6K-L with firmware A10037 (3D0037 behaves the...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

If I physically unplug my battery to the inverter , it does stay up even if is overnight without PV. It is physically impossible for the inverter to stay up and ON unless the inverter does convert AC to DC to feed itself when DC is not available, as @Hiedi pointed above metering the AC...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Wouldn’t it be better if the battery firmware BMS would simply set the max discharge to 0A when there is 20% or less remaining? At the moment I only get that effect if I set SOC to 10%, seems the BMS value my battery sets to max discharge? That is the only way I’ve managed to get the standby...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

That’s the model I have and the firmware I had. Ring Solis and ask the. To upgrade you to A10037 firmware like I got . You’ll get corrected drawn wattage figures , not much, but is fixed.
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

How do you get to that menu? I haven’t seen it. Can you change the values? Thanks No as I can see because if you have no battery or is disabled or standby how does it get powered? These inverters would use DC or convert from AC when not available from battery.
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

This should help solve the issue when the battery does not charge the next day: Might not be ideal but is working. I select Dyness as my battery as is what I have, you should select your brand Pylon or whatever. Then: SOC 20% Force Charge 20% - I selected 300W charge rate as the minimum I can...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

When the battery reaches down 20%, it does indeed use DC down to 17%, then goes back up to 20% and *stops* draining from it. This is what the Dyness separate app AND the Solis app tells me. Are both lying? When the battery reaches 100%, it does use DC down to 98% and then gets recharged up to 100%.
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

I think this inverter prefers DC but it can still manage with AC only by converting to DC. Defo the documentation doesn’t say anything about it but this is what I can assume as it stays on as you can see on the pics.
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Well, tell me then where is the Solis getting its DC energy to run at 4AM in the morning and the battery in standby and saying there is 0W consumed, the Solis app and the Dyness app... because the only place it can get it from is AC conversion to DC and then usage... and the solis inverter was...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Solis must do a better job with the firmware, is not only the wasted energy, is the fact the batteries are overused when there is no point, thus reducing the longevity of the batteries and inverter.
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Thanks. Found it. Before playing in there ;) as I don’t know if 100% safe for my battery type, I have Dyness and I select that, cannot specify custom DOD when I pick Dyness, only SOC and Forcecharge. I’ll try a couple things first with backup mode percentages. I did manage in the past to get the...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

If you do the Battery setup as mentioned, then you can get the battery on standby. Do you have the custom settings setup for your battery? if so, what is the DOD you have? 80%? Doesn't it go to standby on its own at 80% if that is setup?
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Where is that DOD setting? Haven’t seen that. Is not mentioned in the manual. My S5-EH1P … haven’t seen that anywhere. Just SOC and force charge. And SOC gets ignored. Trickles down from that value at a 62W constant rate until reaches the force charge and then charges up but not always stops...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

I had your same problem when I had 3D0037 and after upped to A10037 the watts displayed were spot on, i.e. 19W, 24W or 29W tops.
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Right now my battery is at 20% and losing 62w feeding nothing. Will do until 17%, then charge up to 21% and battery will hopefully go to sleep. Solis must fix this !!!
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Solis should do a better job with all this, INSTEAD OF having users scrambling in forums to get things to work the way they want (and the way they are meant to work).
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

Solis wouldn’t turn off, just battery would go to standby and icon to grey at a lower DOD (i.e. if you setup DOD 80%, battery should stop discharging at all with 20% remaining battery and standby … next morning it should charge. Have you tested something like that with your custom battery...
  • Post in thread: Solis RHI 5kw + Pylontech US500 not stopping discharge at defined SOC

On the DC charge... the inverter does indeed use DC for its own consumption however, if the battery is in standby or off or not available the inverter will do convert AC to DC and then consume it after. Doesn't necessarily need to come up from the battery. See as my test yesterday: First is...
