I just bought a 5 acre property in NorCal in the Western Sierra Nevada foothills. I came from a commercial industrial rented shop space and am trying to set up DIY off grid solar / battery backup power for my house and for a 9600 square foot steel building which has a full machine shop and a number of other industrial equipment requiring 3 phase and single phase power in varying amounts. Because my area is prone to regular long-term outages and some of the highest electric rates in the US, I want to get off grid asap.
