Just wanted to say I really appreciate Wiil and everyone in our DIY community. I've gleened so much great help and tips from our forum. Happy Thanksgiving all.
Did you make sure to close and exit all of your other bms apps and then try the new one? Just a suggestion, make sure you disconnect all other bms apps first.
I downloaded a Hindi swear word and phrase app. Now when they call I'll casually talk to them and inject in a low voice somewhere in the conversation choice words or phrases in their language. Catches them off guard most of the time. Loads of fun learning a new language. Scammer speak.
I didn't make mine. I ordered these found in this link.
IMO, if you can wait, they seem to work fine and allow for cell expansion and contraction without damaging the terminal posts
Also while/when the new app is scanning, if or when your bms shows up, the app will keep scanning, click on your bms when it appears. Don't know if these suggestions have helped.
Just checked the lead length on the temperature sensor and it's 9.5ft. So it looks like I can install the sensor into my box for an extra layer of protection.
I'm currently using, no pun intended, the download version from Overkill Solar 3.1.1026 Android 3rd party. Unless I don't know how to turn on the voltage difference box or it's not an option, it never shows anything. Other than that all the other parameters are changeable.
I got my 200ah 4s cells from AliExpress. Sorry to say that I didn't do my due diligence research first here in the chat. Every cell capacity tested as well as assembled battery. Only got 191ah everytime. Didn't file a claim because I was too late getting to the capacity testing. Upgrading...
Have you tried it yet? I got a message that said play protect wouldn't open it unless I over road the block. I guess I'll wait a bit because I don't want to replace my current app.
So glad it worked for you! Now if it only works for me. I locked myself out the door old app and bms with an attempted password change. Fingers crossed.
Success! Just used this app and was able to get in to my previously locked bms. Still going through all the settings, read to and from the bms, save etc. Over all, WOW. Very well planned out in depth bms app. All my thanks go out to Overkill Solar and those app developers.
With my BMS having 2 low temperature sensors and my battery in an insulated heated(Facon 12x18 pad) battery box, do I actually need to use and or set the remote temperature sensor that came with the 4210an SCC? If I need to use it, I'm not sure where it's placement should be because outside but...
I've got an off grid hunt camp using an Epever 4210an and I'd like to monitor it remotely. I live about 230 miles away from camp and am able to get a 4G signal there. I'm with T-Mobile. Do you think that Epever's RTU 4G will work for me? I see that Victron had this type of monitoring...
Thanks for the comeback. That's a good suggestion. My problem is that the SCC and battery box aren't close enough for that to work. It would be nice to have that extra layer of protection if the heater pad failed and the amount of insulation I used isn't enough.
1.5 inch R7.5 foam board...
Thank you both for your inputs. I'm still going with my planned Victron upgrades and will setup a test simulation before I take the equipment to it's remote site for final installation.
Are you using this as a starter battery or to power the interior as a camper? I don't know if your battery cost was limited, but after the fact, why didn't you get a self heating battery? That being said, you need to watch Will's battery tear down videos on YT and you'll see in most of the...
I'm going to upgrade to a Victron 100/50 SCC with the Global Link 4G LTE. My setup is a remote off grid hunt camp. Built a 4s12v 200ah lifepo4 installed in an insulated heated case. My insulation consists of a layer of thermal foil bubble wrap exterior with 1.5 inch rigid foam inside of that...
