Do your homework before count on using solar. Check how many hours of sun do you have in your area. I'm located in Ontario and unfortunately not too much sun during the winter but a lot of snow.
I have a water heater tank heated by the PVs as a secondary source, connected to my in floor radiant...
I'm completely off grid and "hungry" for solar power so I decided this summer to invest in a new array; this time mounted on the ground. The first array which I built couple years ago was installed on top of the barn but quite a challenge to keep the snow off during the winter. Our location get...
I've got an Westinghouse 7500DF with remote control which has approx. 10sec delay until the power is available. Working fine with my minisplit AC/Heater and other loads (total around 3KW). The time is required in order for generator to stabilize the voltage and frequency.
Thank you all for comments.
I just found a video on YT () from Surrette team about charging settings right for my system and realized that my settings are not ideal and actually my bank is not really fully charged all the time even when I'm using my generator to charge the batteries. The...
Thank you Samsonite801 for your reply.
Just received a response from my friend. Looks like the wiring diagram is available on Magnum site. Too bad is not part of the manual. Anyhow here is the link for whoever is interested...
First of all, Happy New Year.
I had some time to work to install the Magnum AGS in my system and wish to post some updates for whoever is interested.
- first, I installed the AGS based on diagram posted above by using the 2x 12V relays. Unfortunately the generator doesn't want to start on LP...
I've got an 7500DF Westinghouse generator which I'm using with Magnum 4.4Kw inverter for my 48V batteries bank. I'm using the Magnum AGS-N to automatically charge the batteries based on battery voltage, so I can confirm that configuration is working. As No.15 mentioned, you need the ME-BMK to...
Not sure if helps in your case: check the fault history. It can give you an indication about what was wrong last time. As a note, if you use AGS function and have a fault because of that, the inverter will not charge only after the fault is clear.
As a recommendation, delete the fault history.
How I said, these are used batteries, purchased from Hookup back in May 2020 and storage in my friend's garage. People posted on youtube DYI projects using same batteries:
I'm jumping in this discussion as I believe I'm in the same country as Iroman and I was in the same boat before taking the decision to go off-grid. 5 years ago the hydro company in my area was quoted to bring hydro on my property at 40K which was ridiculous. The last hydro pole on my street is...
Just a big Hi to all here.
As no hydro available on my cottage, I built couple years ago a 24V system (3.9KW sollar array, Midnite Classic 200, 8x Surrette acid batteries, Cottek 2KW inverter). We need more power so planning to go to a 48V system using a 4.4KW Magnum inverter.
A big no-no on TESUP products based on my experience. I purchased the Atlas 2.0 from them back in April. I received after 1 month from Turkey. Installed on top of my cottage but it performing very poor. Max. power recorded was 300W but their chart advertising around 1500W at that wind speed...
Yep, Surrette was in my budget and is very popular here. I'm dreaming for LIFePo4 batteries but no money for that.
12x of 325W, but unfortunatelly the max which I collected was around 2.0KW. Hope with the new 48V system to increase the rate.
Hello all,
Before contacting the Magnum, just wondering if somebody here is using the Magnum ME-AGS-N with Westinghouse 7500DF generator. I really can't find any clear instructions how to setup the auto starter with this particular generator. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.
Already have the WizBank JR installed and I can see the SOC of the batteries but that is not taking in account sulphatation, degradation or aging of a battery.
I have installed the battery monitor from the Midnite MNBCM which give you the real SOC of a battery based on voltage measured under...
I'm from Canada and I purchased before the pandemic 4 of 24V LiFePO4 5.6KWh batteries. Unfortunately, with all these travel restrictions I wasn't able to pick up them and already purchased other batteries here in Canada so now the ones in Atlanta are not longer need it.
These were purchased in...
I've got a 24V Battery Charger PB-1000-24 multi stage. I used this to charge my battery bank when no solar available for days. Light used. Paid 500CAD back in 2020, asking 325CAD
I've got 16 of Rolls L16-HC (6V, 445Ah) installed 6mounth ago in a 48V off grid system. The solar array is charging regularly the batteries and measuring the SG at 1.265(@25C) is confirming that. I equalize them every 45days, regularly fill up, etc. I measure voltage and SG between cells and...
Thanks PVDUDE for your response. Just wondering how are you monitoring the health of your batteries? Are you rely strictly on your battery monitor? For curiosity what is your load and what is your discharge rate at the end of the day?
