In case anyone interested, the command (sent via UART) for settings the SoC parameter in the Daly BMS (this also writes the date/time), is as follows:
A5 40 21 08 - the usual header; 0x21 is the command-id to write SoC and RTC
160C0D151D27 - 6 bytes for the date/time. YY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. This...
I am also running three 16S packs in parallel with each a Daly Smart BMS 250A - without any parallel module from Daly.
I wrote a tool to read out the data from the BMSes with a 10-second time interval and "merge" the data together to a single "virtual battery". The data is then pushed via MQTT...
The "smart" part of a EV charing stations is that it should be able to regulate the power according to your solar input (or other parameters such as grid prices etc).
If you are good with electronics and can write code - then you could always build your own, as I did...
Battery-noob here - I am trying to charge (top balance) my new 280Ah cells (A grade, Docan power), but it seems like the energy I put in disappears somewhere when charging at a too low rate (3-4A). Like when you stop charging and the voltage settles back down after a while... but only now this...
But a bad connection would only result in a higher voltage drop and a lower charge rate at the cell. Totally agree that is not optimal - but that doesn't explain the fundametal question: is charging at a low rate possible (and will eventually reach 100%), or is a certain minimal charge rate...
Hi. I am considering building a 48V Victron-based system (Multiplus-ii charger/inverter and DC Solar-charger) with DIY lifepo4 battery bank - 3 strings of 16S in parallel - and have a few questions which I cannot find the answer for:
1) Assuming it is recommended to use a BMS that can...
