Okay, new to this forum, but I have been working this idea for awhile. My plan is to buy the new F150 Lightning and basically use it as a battery with a 13kW solar panel setup to run the house basically off grid. It will still be grid tied, but shouldn’t need the grid. Here is my thinking...

I have an HDK-DC breaker from a high end EATON 9390 UPS battery rack. I see no reason that it couldn’t be used as a DC breaker for a large 48v battery system using server rack batteries. Any one know why this wouldn’t work as a very nice DC breaker?
Anyone know what this battery connector is, it came out of an Eaton 9390 battery enclosure. Seems like a really nice high amp connector that handles 1/0 wire. Not currently planning on using connectors, but if needed it would need to be beefy.

Ah, I am looking at something similar. But expect that I will need the split phase 240 to run the AC. I am collecting data from “sense” to see what my real load is. Very helpful.
agreed. I am collect data with a sense clamp monitor on the main incoming lines and I can see the inrush for everything. Going to put a posting up with my observations and see if it is consistent with what others have seen.
First, the F150 Lightening is not "really" going to be available until 2023 (if you are lucky). However, with that said, there is a video that goes into depth on the home backup power.
