I never lost power or natural gas, so I was never in any danger, but All of my solar stuff wouldn't have done me any good. It was cloudy every.day. and the panels were covered with snow. Also, it was too cold for me to want to run those expensive Lithium batteries batteries for risk of damaging...
Does it show how many amps you're generating with PV? It looks to me like it's only showing amps discharged (unless I really AM only generating 1-2 amps, then something is wrong)
"Load Shed" Is that what it's called when you only only generate as much power as you use? If your array is generating 1KW, and the house is running 1KW worth of appliances, then it's like the array is powering it by itself.
If you generate more than 1KW, then the excess goes back to the...
Nah, I don't think we need to waste a bunch of money "Winterizing" in case of a once in 200 year Ice storm. What we could do, is put critical utilities (like Water sanitation, Fire Dept, Police, Hospitals) on it's own power source that's not subject to Rolling Blackouts. Also create Storm...
I'm still super new, and just starting out on a 24v MPP all in one setup for my shed.
I don't really use eBay or Ali express often at all, so my spider sense isn't developed yet. Most of what ice found were $500+ $150 shipping...
I'm a beginner,so take this for what it's worth, but isn't his voltage too low?
Amps go up and down depending on position and obstruction, but the voltage should be near exact to spec, right?
So I've got 7 of these batteries for a 24v 7s system:
https://batteryhookup.com/products/new-lg-chem-n2-1-3-7v-120ah-cell-module?variant=31947081154692
I've seen David pos video on it, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Some of the leads were cut too short, and don't stick out far enough for...
So I thought I should try something else .. I folded the leads over each other so that if one is shorter, I could ensure a strong connection to it, and create a bulkier lead to clamp onto.
Now, I have this other battery that I got from big battery, which also uses pouch cells, but the cells...
So I went and purchased small hinges and screws. The screws are also small enough that I could drill
holes into the leads, and connect wires straight to it if needed. (I just don't like making permanent changes if I can avoid it).
What should I use as bus bars to connect the modules? What size...
Yo, Super new to solar!
Just purchased 3x 305W Sunpower panels primarily to power my pool pump but after looking at battery prices...err...I guess if I HAVE to??
The pump needs to run 6 hours a day, which roughly coincides with the amount of direct sunlight I get!
My pump: 110V 4.0A A/C
A few...
I'm thinking about ordering an MPP All in one, but the only way to get it (so far as I know) is to order it from Taiwan. Considering the virus, has that been a problem for anyone? If I ordered it, will I have to wait for everything to blow over before it's sent...on the back of a giant snail to...

I asked Big Battery, and this is what they sent me. Posted here just in case others run into the same problem
Did I just screw up and order batteries that I shouldn't have?
I just ordered 7 of these intending to build a battery for my 24v MPP All in one system
https://batteryhookup.com/products/new-lg-chem-n2-1-3-7v-120ah-cell-module
I didn't realize that they weren't LiFeP04 at time of ordering. Are...
That's what I tried to do at first. (David Poz's method) but 3 out of 7 had leads that were too short to reach the block, so I'm looking for other ways to make it work
So, I ordered this Battery kit from Big Battery.
https://bigbattery.com/product/24v-a123-lfp-battery-free-shipping/
It was a version that came with a BMS, and a wiring harness adapter, which makes it so soldering isn't needed.
I'm trying to put it all together, but the adapter will plug in both...
I've been thinking of this as well. I wanted to be able to turn off my inverter, and run lights, and small accessories off of a buck converter. I went to the Auto store to get parts for my car, and though "Hmm...maybe use Car headlights? They're already 12v DC, and they're super bright. I could...
