I just watched this yesterday, but don't see any transparent testing data. Would LOVE to see @Will Prowse do a teardown and capacity test! The specs look great, especially for the 300Ah (16.4 lbs lighter, 10% smaller, and $700 cheaper than BattleBorn).
He’s referring to Will’s very popular How to hack the GZ Lithium by adding a powerful victron charge controller video.
I’m really curious as to why this hasn’t been discussed as this seems to be a solid use case, and is exactly what I was searching for input on for my own overland power system.
sad to hear of the tragic (albeit valorous) passing of your mighty Yeti1250 v3.0... Depending on your grieving needs, and/or next project scope, i do see that there is a now hard-to-find 1250 available here in the bay area...
I've really enjoyed your 1250 upgrade evolutions. i finally found a used 1250 for cheap and picked it up yesterday, along w/ ordering the costco LION special
This will be plenty of Ahs for my current application, so i will hold off on the 280 DIY upgrade.
For your next trick, please swap out...
Need some help setting up the overlanding power system in my JK. I’m currently using a GZ yeti 1000 to power my ARB Zero 47qt for weekend trips. I am adding the link module that will be wired to the bus terminal on my genesis dual battery setup for fast charging off of the alternator. I’m adding...
oh wow, that's a bummer. i picked my 1000 up at an REI garage sale "as is" for $400. like you said, i figured it was worth it just for the inverter. my batt is around 90%, so not too bad.
yeah, i've watched all of your vids on the yeti, and that is what i plan on doing - using my LiFePo 100Ah...
Bob142 already proved it out:

He then held his own beer - taking it a step further and building a 280Ah...
I’ve searched through the yeti tear downs and haven’t seen anything about removing/replacing the inverters. Has anyone seen or done this? Specifically, I’m looking to upgrade the 1200/1500 inverter in my 1250 level-up LiFePO Jeep project. I pinged GZ on this, but haven’t heard back... I’ve...
How is the refurb’d unit? Have you done any stress tests to determine output? Wish there was a way of chaining batts to this unit
- i love the killer 1500W/3K inverter, but i really need a plug-n-play way to add capacity...
So, looks like i can use a smart shunt for this. Does anyone know how i can add capacity to the yeti’s 1000Whs? I’d really prefer adding to the system in order for it to remain a simple plug-n-play, self-reliant system.
Interesting... i have the Link set up in my Jeep w/ my Yeti1000 and am adding (2) 100W panels to my roof rack for charging while boondocking. I’d love to be able to integrate a Victron MPPT so that i could improve the charge rate/efficiency, add additional Li batts, and to be able to monitor...
