I found the EG4 BMS to be complete trash, opened my batteries up, replaced both BMS with overkill solar units, and they have been running and balancing flawless since. I had considered sending them back for a refund, but the time and effort to do so was more than it took to replace both BMS...

Not that I ever found. The BMS software is shit and unprogrammable I think at this point, enough dang people have had the same issue with inrush and such, it’s on SS or EG4 to admit this issue and step up and fix it for real with a different BMS and software package

For longevity of the alternator, I’d try to keep it around 25% or so

It wouldn't surprise me. Their products are lack luster at best, and only popular because of the price point and the amount of gear they hemmorage to the "vanlife influencer" type crowds I personally know 3 different people that have had their Renogy DCDC chargers fail within the first year...

Another easy method is a Sterling DCDC charger, they come in 30a, 60a, and 120a and will charge the house batteries as you drive. They are 100% customizeable for different charging profiles and such. I use the 60a unit and its worked amazing the last 2 years on the road. Just an FYI

Agree 110% Signature is a great company with kickass customer service, but the EG4 BMS issues continue to give a lot of folks very frustrating issues. The build quality and such is awesome, so i hope they fix this and just use a different BMS with software that actually works.

@RichardfromEG4 has been great helping me troubleshoot mine. Maybe he will chime in
