More Batteries or More panels? What is the tactical approch for expansion?

Well put! That makes so much sense. Things are going very well and its been fun so far. Plenty of solar (summer) and enough batttery, I need to load thing down. November and December in Missouri will be a differnt story im sure.

More Batteries or More panels? What is the tactical approch for expansion?

After purchasing the 6000XP and 4000 watts of panels (10) in a single string with one LL_S battery, I have since bought another two LL_S batteries. I have a 300 to 500 watt load on the system that drops the (3) LL_S batteries to about 50-60% SOC every morning and reaches 100% charge by 11:00...

Eg4 6000xp with protran transfer switch

Can the Reliance be used as a sub panel? Or do all the breakers have to be tied back to the grid individually. I would like to have a 50 amp double pole to the main for “line”, and the 50 amp from my 6000XP for “gen”. The breakers would then feed the load as a sub panel. I suppose I could join...

6000XP -PV volts v.s. Watts incoming power

UPDATE: I set this up and played with settings. Very cool. I wasn’t comfortable letting my batteries get down to 20/22% SOC and staying there waiting for sunny day. It would be my luck to have a power outage strike with little battery back up. On a sunny winter day, I charge to 100% and deplete...

6000XP -PV volts v.s. Watts incoming power

Well, it’s been a fun first couple weeks. Love the 6000XP, 2 LL-S batteries, and 400 watts of panels. I have a critical load panel wired with 2 freezers a fridge some lights and couple plug outlets. Solar has been minimal, lucky to see 400-700 watts in Missouri. I always find the same solution...

6000XP -PV volts v.s. Watts incoming power

Is there a way to bypass manually for the status shown above? I am almost at 20% this morning, with 450 watts incoming.

6000XP -PV volts v.s. Watts incoming power

Wow, information overload on the monitoring portal. I need some time to digest all this. Thanks again for the help. Love this forum. I continue to learn…..

6000XP -PV volts v.s. Watts incoming power

Understood now, I was getting excited when I saw PV voltage go up, disappointed when watts didn’t follow. Logged on to EG4 monitor for first time, interesting. How do I figure how many kWh I have generated this year? Is it just “solar production”? Does “battery” contribute?

6000XP -PV volts v.s. Watts incoming power

Learning to interpret data on my 6000XP, 2 LL-S batteries, 10 (400) watt panels. My inverter will show incoming PV voltage of about 300v this time of year. But the EG4 app will vary in Watts. See below photos. I have had as much as 1200+ watts on the app, with 300v of PV. Today I have 353v of...

How to use excess solar/transfer load?

This summer, I was going to put a pool pump on a timer to run during the day and turn off after peak sun hours. Seems like I can predict loads, but not the weather. I would hate to get caught in a power outage with the batteries low. I will research 6000XP settings for ECO mode, another member...

EG4 6000XP arrived! Choices to load it?

I purchased a 2nd battery, merry Christmas to me. I plan to purchase one more in February, after the 3 slot rack is available.

How to use excess solar/transfer load?

Getting hooked on this Solar, forum is great. I bought the 6000XP, (2) LL-S batteries, 4000 watt string generating about 300 to 360v in December. Purpose was to have emergency power for fridge/freezers and well pump in case of power outage. I currently have all 4 fridge/freezers on a critical...

Help! I dont kno what im doing wrong

I am not familiar with Bluetti ac300, but I just looked at the owners manual on the web. First thing to think about is the 50amp to 30 amp reducer. 50 amp requires (2) separate 120v services. The reducer just eliminates one. Another thing to understand is in the settings, make sure it’s not in a...
