  • Post in thread: Electric Companies slowly taking back control

Anyone who is tied to the grid is wasting their money/investing in solar power, if grid power is available it's cheaper. Solar power is only economical if it's not available, or it cost too much to install power lines to a remote site. If you are off-grid solar, and know how to manage/reduce...
  • Post in thread: Lithium Battery Solar Charger

Don't know why the charge controller manufactures, have yet to add a function for lithium batteries, so it won't charge the battery unless its above 32 degrees. My CC tells the temperature, so it sounds like a no brainer

I just replaced two 100ah AGM batteries with one Pionergy 200AH plus battery at my hunting cabin. The new battery had 13.2V when delivered, and I charged it to 13.6V as required before use..........it ran my 12V inverter(20W), two 10W lights=40W total after dark, for around 6 hours and it only...

FDA>The instructions for my Pionergy battery said to set the CC at max charge of 13.6V is all I know about this new battery. I let it charge to 13.6V just to charge it up. I did buy a new MPPT Epever 40A charge controller for the lithium battery, but have yet to install it, my current one is a...

My pionergy battery after 18 months died. First off I would like to warn everyone that I have not been able to find any way to contact this company, and it was sold having a 5 year warranty(amazon). Now with said the battery has 6.5 volts now and I was wondering if I can repair it myself, and...
  • Post in thread: What size system?

I have a 12V inverted 120V AC system at my hunting cabin with 400W of panels. I was using 2x-100A AGM batteries, and running a small fridge was my biggest power consumer. Those AGM batteries would just barely run the fridge overnight. I replaced them with one Lifepro4 200A battery when they died...

I have been using it the whole time at my off grid cabin, and it has never been below 12.6V. It usually charges to 3.2V-3.4V(solar) and I have top charged it every month to 3.7 volts. It has never been charged below 32 degrees either. Yes I am going to contact Amazon about the warranty, because...

I'm charging with a solar charge controller is the difference. Sounds like you are using a AC battery charger like the one they try to sell with the battery. Maybe I should be charging the battery to 14.0V to do the balance deal also, still pouring over all the info on these batteries to see how...

Yeah I am using one 200ah Lifepro4 battery. Make sure if you buy one it has at least a 5 year warranty. My 400W of panels keeps the battery charged during the day when I have over 10 hours of daylight, even with the power on during the day. I'm located in zone six.
