This morning.. after Watchpower has been working.. today I only get partial information. The little "map" of current flow doesn't show the path and values of power usage. I think the values in the list are not acurate either. It's hard to tell as the refresh is so slow. I did a reset.. ie...
With the fridg and freezer not on the solar inverter. And the only load is old incandescent light bulbs (2).. and I'm still getting the Blink. I'm thinking that if I do go for something else for a inverter and solar controller combo I'm going to have the same problem.
Then if I go for a...
I think I saw Will with a little Oscope.. maybe he would be able to check the output of the 6500's to show the Sine wave form? Sig Solar should have done this. I wrote them about the crazy App they have even though I've got it working it doesn't always work and if super slow to show changes...
Seems to be a lot of questions about the built in Pre-charge resistor in the EG4 LiFePower4 Batterys. Two things can clear this up for you.
1. From the Docs PDF file that you can find at the Signature Solar web site. Intitled EG4-LiFepower4 Manual-2.1.0.pdf. LINK...
Hi again, Anything new? As in a fix .. or do I have to change out my 6500 for something?
I, have only one 6500 running off grid and feeding 2 freezers and two refrigerators and 1 desk lamp and no matter what, either night or day, the lights on my computer desk flicker. ( about 3 times per...
I too have had no luck with that App. Same as you.. same issue. I'm going to have to call Sig Solar and go on hold to get help. Another idea is using a Raspberry Pi unit. But I've had lots of experence with those as I have 4 of them and I'm always fighting the software updates. One gets a...
Last night.. and after the FirmWare change.. Flickers every 55 min. This morning we have a flicker around every 1/2 hour. So much for that as a cure. What should I try now. Can't have this flicker.
Well guys?.. SS talked me into upgrading the firmware. I've got the latest and greatest firmware now. I'm watching. Plugged in two freezers and two Refers and my light on the desk here. My eyes are peeled. o_O
I had a suprise after not getting my Watchpower to work.. Well this morning it worked!! It was when I went to watch the info on UT of the Dessmonitor. I found the following two videos as follows:
Watchpower setup and Dessmonitor setup
My 6500 is due here next week. Thanks for starting this thread as it should be interesting. Gounds are a funny thing too. Will talks about the common ground and the chassis ground and how to seperate them using or removing a screw in the 6500 then grounding the two ground lines from the 6500...
Looking at the manual for the 6500 I see on page 5 an RJ45 port named 18. The RS232 8 pin RJ45 plug goes there and the other end has to go to the computer. It looks like the cable has a DB9 plug so you need an USB to DB9 adapter of the proper Gender. It's kinda crazy nowdays to have an old...
I bought a new small dist panel and it said it's a SquareD. The rest of my "house" breakers are SquareD and I had a few spare breakers I wanted to use in the new Dist panel. Found out I was wrong. There are Two types of breakers. I had to take the Dist panel back and I've not found a panel...
Looks like to me, that my freezer plugged into the EG4 6500ex produces a power bump that causes my lights to blink. I did update to the most latest and greatest firmware and that hasn't helped my freezer bump problem. I may have a capacitor going out in that freezer, I don't know. I'll have...
The flicker is just a off and on dimming of the bulb. My computer monitors "click" when this happens. I took the computer system off the solar power. Yup.. just off and back on. Fast but very noticeable.
LOL.. that's super and I may have to ask for an RMA. Some are using the LV 6548 units. Box looks the same as my EG4 6500ex!.. More research and reading the forum (s) is a requirement. The SS guy commented that the new firmware fixed the problem. I admit it seems to have made my lights...
