  • 2AWG connection to Samlex PST-600 12 problem

I've spec'd 2 AWG wire to the Samlex PST-600 12 inverter and the manual says to use the provided "pin lug " and not tighten the set screw down on large guage stranded wire. Makes sense. But the provided pin connector is too small for 2 AWG. What are my options to make a good connection? Can I...

  • Victron MPPT 100/50 with RV Converter Charger same circuit ?

Just a quick noob question. When I connect the MPPT to the battery along with the normal Converter/ Charger that's standard on RVs do they both "understand" when to not charge? For instance, when we are camping with shore power and plugged in ( or the on board 4K Onan Genny is running ) and its...

  • Is 400 watt solar system too much power for 220 Ah batteries?

I am considering adding solar to supplement charging the 2 DC220-6 Fullriver 6 Volt 220 AH AGM Batteries I have wired in series instead of starting the generator when we are camping at places without hookups. Ive calculated that we use ~60 Amp hours per day. How do I calculate what is a safe...

  • RV rooftop panel connections-Does even wire lengths matter ?

Ill be wiring 4 HQST 100 Watt 12 Volt Polycrystalline on my RV roof. Two groups of series to parallel. Each is 18.2v 5.5A so I will end up with 36.4v 11A at the MPPT, correct? Depending on how I configure the panels on the roof , does it matter if my 10AWG solar wire extensions are all the...

  • OK to mount SCC horzontally?

Im putting together my 400w system pretty much like Will Ps blue print. I have a Victron MPPT 100/50 SmartSolar and the manual states to mount vertically with terminals facing down. Why is this? Would it make a huge diff to mount everything flat ( in my storage area under bed in RV ) .
  • Making 8AWG PV to SCC wires

Im considering going with 8AWG PV to SCC wires instead of 10AWG. But all of the crimping tools and MC4 connectors only go up to 10AWG. How are you'all making your 8AWG wires?
