Impressive what lengths you are going to for this project.
How did you get the heavy equipment to your site? Looks like you have a pair of machines there…
I bought the AmpereTime 300ah 12v battery in July. I was impressed. Tested out over 320ah ( I stopped the test at 11.1 volts). I have pulled 170amps continuous from it. No problems yet.
I have 9 panels facing west that definitely help offset the high late afternoon rates.
id like to add panels facing east that charge batteries for the evening.
I have a 4.25kW GT enphase system, and it meet’s about 2/3 of my yearly usage, but what really kills is the TOU shift that happened a couple years ago. Now, most of my export is the low rate, and my usage in the evening for the heat pump/AC is the high rate.
I‘m curious how you did your behind...
Probably SOK 12v100. Maybe AmpereTime.
since I have to do a custom mount, I thought I’d capacity test them before mounting them. Then use the shunt to monitor battery level. Thought about Bluetooth, but sometimes is nice to just have a gauge.
Circling back on this thread - I wound up purchasing and installing an AmpereTime 300ah battery. I capacity tested it a couple times and it came in at 320ah. Running the gopower 1500w inverter off it I was able to power an 1875w hair dryer from it, while running a refrigerator on DC. The...
Who’s using this inverter on 12v lithium batteries (or battery) and having good success with the system?
I have the inverter, currently connected to a 12v deep cycle rv battery. the battery has no BMS that can overload with inrush, so I have no problems other than low capacity.
I‘m concerned...
Does this mean every time I turn the inverter on I need to connect a pre charge resistor in series?
or is it just for when I hookup the inverter to the batteries?
An MPP will harvest as much as possible if you stay within voltage and current limits, AFAIK.
which will fit better? A single large panel or many small? It’s easier to mount just one…
Looks good to me.
if your charger and inverter are running at the same time, small scale, like you said (100w), you’ll be wasting a little energy to heat, but not enough to worry about, IMO.
the balanced charging looks good too.
will you be running the systems 24/7 on the inverter?
I’ve had solar on the roof for close to a decade. Going to put LiFePo4 in the trailer.
if I learn enough here to add more solar and battery storage to my home, I will.
I‘ve been reading posts on here for a couple months, and I think as a group you all are pretty smart.
So, thought I’d say...
Hi Bentley.
I read something about SCE that made me think they were as bad as PG&E. I think it’s a race to the bottom.
for along time my true-up was very reasonable, it has gone up a lot in the last couple years
I guess my only other thought is that it sounds like you’ll be charging LA batteries in an indoor space. I hope not, they off-gas.
seems that you’ll have real stable power for the systems. I like your avatar. Lol. Let’s hope not!
I have read a number of comments, particularly from Will, about capacity testing new batteries.
so I looked at threads, and it seems this is a tester people use:

and since I’ll have a pair of...
