I could really use some help getting my system parameters figured out. I am always going over voltage.

Thanks for your reply! Very informative. it's nice to hear from someone who has my specific model. Just to clarify, the settings you provided are for a 24v system, correct?

I could really use some help getting my system parameters figured out. I am always going over voltage.

Thanks for your reply! I'm not sure if you were aware, but I do indeed have two CCs. I have 4 panels connected to one and 2 connected to the other. You did make me think about something. I was under the impression when I bought the CC that it had a max voltage of 150v. I now realize that It's...

not as far as i'm aware. I have them connected to the main busbar just like everything else. I did also notice that it has the 12v settings.

Thank you for the reply. The next time the bms cuts out I will try to pay attention to the voltages and get back to you. In the meantime, here is a picture of every setting I am allowed to change on my scc (at least on the app, I'm not sure if I can change more on the actual device itself.) I...

I could really use some help getting my system parameters figured out. I am always going over voltage.

Hello. I have already set up my first solar system and it works great most of the time. However, in the day time, my system always produces too much power and forces my inverter to go into high voltage protection and shut off. I don't know exactly where I am going wrong here. My SCC should be...

What happens to excess power produced by panels after batteries are full?

I have only changed the voltage to 24v and the battery type to lithium. I haven’t changed anything else

What happens to excess power produced by panels after batteries are full?

Thanks for your reply. I have the Renogy Rover 40a MPPT. I am not really sure what optimal settings should be for charging a 24v lithium system. Could you give me some advice on what a good cutoff voltage would be as well as optimal charging voltage?

What happens to excess power produced by panels after batteries are full?

Hi there. Super noob here. I just got my first solar system set up and I had a question about where my excess power is going. I looked around the forum and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for so if anyone could answer my question in layman's terms I would be very grateful. My panels...

Just bought raw Lifepo4 cells. Wondering What to Use for Terminal Studs.

Hi everyone, I recently purchased these cells for my first DIY Solar System. The cells do not come with terminal studs. Just a threaded hole. I'm trying to find a threaded rod or bolt to use as a stud but I'm not sure which material I need to use. Because It's pretty difficult to find threaded...

How much total system loss (roughly) can I expect from start to finish?

Howdy! I just finished reading Will's book cover to cover and at on page 26 he mentions that with a "properly designed system" one could expect to see a 50% total loss when it's all said and done. (100w solar panel would only produce 50w of usable power) This seems very extreme. From what I've...

I've hit a wall whist building my first system. Having a hard time sizing my system.

Ahhh. I think I get it. So you would use the buck converter to control your dc-dc current and use your inverter to convert your DC-AC? I promise I tried to understand your wiring diagram but I still wonder how you connect your converter and your inverter to the same system. It looks like your...

I've hit a wall whist building my first system. Having a hard time sizing my system.

Yeah I've considered all of this. The only reason I'm not going with 5000wh of batteries (right now) is cost. I'm creating an identical build for my Dad; he saw some guy on youtube with 2400wh of battery and 1200w of panels and he though that seemed like a good idea so I've kind of just based my...

I've hit a wall whist building my first system. Having a hard time sizing my system.

Nice! That doesn't seem too bad. Thanks for your help. Earlier, you mentioned a Buck Converter. What is the purpose of this? From what I read on Google, it's supposed to basically just lower your voltage, right? So would I place this between my PV and my SCC and it would decrease the voltage...
