Ok NC, found that and disabled it. We will see what happens tomorrow morning and hope my wife won't be stranded in the dark shower again!! LOL
Seriously, how did you know this and why aren't all owners aware of this?
Like I said in my survey from Sig Sol on how I like my new inverter...Not...
I am very happy you are doing that. I used it cause I needed the Generator setup to charge the batteries from the grid only when down to 25% back up to 35% .
Yes, I saw that in the Ver 1.4 manual and liked it. Since its in the manual, it proves the firmware exists...where is it??
I am using a 40 amp contactor tripped by a Kasa smart switch to grid charge for 2 hours at night to charge the batteries.
Thanks for the info. You are using a consecutive number scheme and I'm wondering if the gap in my id #s is seeing a delay of info from the batteries and inverter and causing the failures.
Going to adjust to 0-7 and see if there's improvement.
I started with the Solarman but did not like the 5 minute lag for info. Then I found the Solar assistant program for my ras pi. Youre supposed to be able to edit some things, but it does not work yet. Plus it was easy enough to put the times in at the keypad.
Thanks for responding MP.
How are your batteries and inverter addressed?
Mine are:
Inverter = id 1
EGLP4 batteries:
batt 1 =id 0 is connected to the inverter
batt 2 =id 4
batt 3 = id 5
batt 4 = id 6
batt 5 = id 7
batt 6 is an EG$LL ver2 and its comm is not connected.
Used to use the CAN...
Simple. I just ran #8 wire from the grid terminals to the main panel 40 amp breaker. #8 again from load 1 to 40 amp breaker in the solar subpanel. I dont have any heavy loads in the solar subpanel.
This whole adventure started from the absurd reality of having to run the 16kw propane...
No and I asked SS, Mega, and EG4. Turns out Solar Assistant is working on the `Power' tab for us to be able to choose an SOC setpoint to charge from the grid up to another SOC setpoint to turn it off. Are you in the same boat?
1. Yes correct according to the diagram.
2. If the new firm has the advanced menu, I would like a copy.
I'm just about to wire the grid to the generator terminals and charge the batteries that way without fear of dumping to the grid.
Here's a new one....Every night around 11pm I cutoff the grid feed breaker and coast on battery power through the night and next day til around 5 pm when there’s no more useable solar to charge the batteries and cut on the grid breaker.
Between 615 and 625 am every morning, the inverter reboots...
Running well with grid on, solar on, batteries on...and then I heard the inverter fans speed up and I looked at solar assistant to see everything dumping into the grid and a load of over 10kw!! I cutoff the batteries to spare them, plus the wife was on her office pc and a con call, and the UPS...
I can't believe this grid feed problem is still happening after all this time. I got my unit Dec 2022 and left off the guessing in this forum the end of March. I see SS/EG4 are hot on their new 18k, which leaves us further in the dust!
What I've done to curtail the grid backfeed is to install...
1. Yes, CT's pointing toward grid wire entry into inverter.
2. The EG4 lifepower batt has the internal resistor. I always use that batt to startup. In the state it was in, it needed a reboot and all is well now. That is until next time it decides to dump into the grid.
Found something...
Agreed. If that were a `Real load' it would have tripped the 40 amp breaker.
I killed the batteries at that point. I thought about it, then decided to cut the batteries back on and kill the grid breaker. When I cut the batteries on, I got a buzzing and then the red alarm light on the eg4...
I will be good with this unit if it stops the morning reboot. I would also like to figure out the Time shift program for charge and discharge, so I dont have to cutoff the grid manually every night. I dont trust it as the first time I tried it, it dumped almost two batteries into the grid...
These are my firmware versions, but don't have a generator setup section, yet have a version number higher than yours??? I bought the 8k Dec 31st and received a week later. I've got PV and grid hooked up, and anti-reverse enabled. Yesterday, after changing grid and discharge power percent...
