Honda doesn’t make any DC generator. I know they’re good, but they’re AC inverter generator.

Sorry for the OT Hi RCinFLA, would you mind giving an eye to my Thread 'RV Air Conditioner tripping inverter after start' https://diysolarforum.com/threads/rv-air-conditioner-tripping-inverter-after-start.41939/ I think you might be the right person to help me solve the issue. Thank you!

I‘ve found Ganfeng too, seems a very large company that sells batteries to Tesla also. http://www.ganfenglithium.com/index_en.html

Hi, I live in Europe and I’m powering an A/C with an inverter. I’m not sure if the A/C is inverter technology. When it’s running I don’t hear it varying its speed (I have an inverter A/C at home that do that). It has a “soft start” function that is supposed to suppress surges at startup but I...
  • Post in thread: DC petrol generator for charging RV LiFePO4 battery

Hi all, my RV is gas-free, it relies on a 8s 300Ah LiFePO4 battery for all the utilities like induction cooktop, air con, lights and so on, except for the heating and water that run on diesel. I was able to install 700Wp solar panels on the roof and that’s enough in summertime when the sun...

Hi Jim, thanks for the answer. The 8s 24v 150A BMS is in control of the battery but the inverter current actually doesn’t flow thru it, I’ve setup the on/off switch of the inverter to pass by a solid state relay that is powered from the BMS, so if the BMS detects anything’s wrong, the inverter...

It’s strange though, if I run an induction cooktop that’s double the power, the voltage doesn’t float that much. Only with the air conditioner

Thank you sir. Your help is very much appreciated indeed! Looking at the scheme, is this the point where I should add the capacitor? (Marked in red) The A/C has a rated cooling capacity of 2000W. It should be 6820btu. Can you please advise me about the correct size capacitor? I‘ve tried to...
  • Post in thread: DC petrol generator for charging RV LiFePO4 battery

Hi, I guess it’s an AC generator since you’re using a battery charger, not a DC generator.
  • Post in thread: DC petrol generator for charging RV LiFePO4 battery

Everything can be done of course, fitting a second alternator would be a tricky but not impossible job. Anyway a ”normal” alternator isn’t engineered to run at 100% power for all time. In addition, a completely empty LiFePO battery can draw a huge amount of current and an alternator without a...
  • Post in thread: RV Air Conditioner tripping inverter after start

The SSR turns on and off the inverter/charger thru its on/off switch, it’s not on the power line. And inverter/charger has its own overcharge/over discharge protection, voltage based. I’m not sure if I understood well what you meant. I will check the SSR voltage drop at startup though, thanks...

Yes I do, but it’s not a professional one. How could I check ripple?

The generator output is regulated, the limit is 100A, it won’t produce more than that.
  • Post in thread: RV Air Conditioner tripping inverter after start

    It’s pure sine wave
  • Post in thread: RV Air Conditioner tripping inverter after start

When I set the output at 220v the A/C shakes more than if I set output at 230v, it should be less as the fluctuations should be smaller. How can it be? Now I got my hands on an oscilloscope, not sure if i will be able to sort it out
  • Post in thread: RV Air Conditioner tripping inverter after start

Checkthisout and Sirtate, thank you for helping me to sort this out. I agree with you, that is probably what is happening, since the A/C has a soft start function it might be an inverter type. I’m not sure if it’s possible to run it in on/off mode, don’t think so. Apart from changing the...
  • Post in thread: RV Air Conditioner tripping inverter after start

Hello everyone, I have a problem with an inverter powered air conditioning unit that happens after the A/C started and I can’t sort it out. The inverter is an all-in-one charger/solar controller/inverter Epever UP3000-M3322 served by 8x280Ah 3,2V LiFePO4 batteries and I want to power an air...
  • Post in thread: Two 8s balancers for a 16s battery

Hello all, I have two spare 8s balancers from previous projects, now I’m building a 16s battery and I was wondering if I can use them or if it’s better to buy a 16s model. Does anybody have suggestions about it, pros and cons?
