I want to build a 48v kit and I'm a little scared by the idea having to rely on one BMS. What's your guys opinion on 16x280Ah vs 32x something-smaller in 16S2P. Is it just me being paranoid? Also: what other supplier do we have here that are known for quality? Amy just recommended me to wait...

  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

I ordered mine on 4/13 to Ireland. The UPS label was created on 04/25 (in Poland). I asked Amy yesterday and she said it just cleared through (EU) customs and tracking should go live within the next 2 days (can't wait). I'm wondering in what country it arrives before it goes by land.

Hi, I'm facing the same issue and wonder: would this do the job? https://www.sterling-power-usa.com/SterlingPower12volt-to-48volt-batterytobatterycharger.aspx
  • Post in thread: 8s-16s BMS Instructions?

IC GOGOGO sent me the link with instructions and their app after reaching out to them. I don't wanna share the link since it contains a copy of VBMS as well which I bought in the play store. I don't think that's fair to the creator. attaching the official app and instructions here (I hope...

    Because they're over 40kg total
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

My tracking went live tonight. It's on the way from Poland and (according to UPS) should be in Ireland by Thursday
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

that was just when the order was sent to UPS. Amy said it'll go live whenever it arrives in Europe. I ordered 8x 280Ah batteries (2x 4pcs kit) for USD 661.36 and paid USD 317 for shipping. Just over 900€ total so

Well. I just inquired with Haomi about those 16x 280ah to Ireland and the rep immediately said she recommends rail transport (22-28 days) as air cargo to Europe is expensive right now because of covit19. Knowing that a airlines are grounded I tend to believe her.
  • Post in thread: Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

I ordered 8x280Ah cells to Ireland. 661.36 USD the cells + 330.68 shipping by sea, tax included. Make sure you have "DDP" set as your trade terms in Alibaba. Didn't get them yet but should be all good.
  • Post in thread: Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

Bank transfer. You can choose between Euro to a bank in Germany or USD to a bank in Singapore. I paid in Euro, it seems the mark up for the currency conversion was about 10Euro. Still saved about 25 compared to credit card, it took about 2 days to get processed. A benefit of CC is the added...
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

I don't think we're talking about the same one. Mine comes with a detachable display so I can put the remote unit, including switch and display, wherever I want using a standard RJ45 cable. That's exactly why I wanted this model. The main downside (for vans) is the high PV input (MPPT range...

  • Post in thread: Best "blue" prismatic LiFePo4 cells for weight effiency

Hi, after a lot of back and forth with some aspects in my planning, I'm slowly making progress. I'm looking for batteries for a 48v kit with at least 10KWh of capacity. Originally I planned for 16x280ah prismatic from Xuba which is nice and actually a bit more than I probably need. The...
  • Post in thread: Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

Xuba Batteries! I Amy just updated my that mine are shipped (Sea to Europe / DDP). It'll take about a month but can't wait. I scrapped my idea with 16 cells and 48V for now, simplified a bit and got 8x280Ah for 24V. 6.7KWh should but good for something. Still need the rest of the van built out...
  • Post in thread: MPPT Voltage Range question

Hi, can somebody explain to me how to best fit panels in the MPPT voltage range? Basically I'm looking on those MPP Solar / EA-Power All-In-One systems. Some of them have have a MPPT range of 30(or 60)-115V and the higher ones go from 120-430V. I know with my solar panels I have to be within...
  • Post in thread: Best "blue" prismatic LiFePo4 cells for weight effiency

OK, thanks. Do you think the difference in weight with the different vendors is just due to the margin of error? I always thought they sell the same stuff. Getting 1-3 spare cells, especially when talking about 32 total makes sense, good idea
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

thanks Steve, yes, I already did some modifications, such as max voltage, low voltage and some other ones. That's why I'm asking here if there's anything important missing or for some more recommendations. I'm having a look at the spec sheet but a lot does come down to personal experience.
  • Post in thread: Best "blue" prismatic LiFePo4 cells for weight effiency

good point, I just thought about replacing individual cells. Weight is a concern since I'm driving a van with a GVW of 3.5t, I have about 1.3t to work with, total. Batteries are heavy and so are solar and water. I try to get the maximum performance out of a minimum of weight. 48V are because I...
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

No, we found the answer. The shipping company messed it up and shipped by rail even though we asked for sea. The tracking UPS number gets created ahead of time and only starts moving once it gets scanned by UPS. It seems to have already cleared through EU customs (Poland) and (according to the...
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

the seller sent me the official app in the meantime with a lifepo4 pre-setting so I can't really be too wrong anymore. Still open to comments what you guys are using to get the most out of it.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32997552090.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.29a54c4d9AgxVd The 400A+LCD model. This one comes with 6x12AWG wire on both sides, wouldn't use it for 400A but since they're pretty short it's probably fine for 200 or so
  • Post in thread: MPPT Voltage Range question

Thanks and that's why, with a lot of different panel configurations I tend to be stuck somewhere in between the 2 voltage ranges. Too high for one but not quite high enough for the other one (especially with 3). Does anyone have experience how the voltage curve behaves and how much room the the...
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

Hi, I just got my AntBMS set-up after about 2 weeks without one. Can somebody have a look and comment on my settings for 8s 280ah Xuba lifepo4? Also, is it normal that balancing always seem to be disabled? Thanks
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

nevermind on the balance. After the last bigger discharge cycle it balanced out. Should have done that before asking. My inverter is set as follows: thanks a lot! As mentioned, in the meantime I switched to the lifepo4 profile of their official app so I should be set, for now, I'm sure that...
  • Post in thread: DC powered Mini Split Air Conditioning system

Going to hijack this thread here. I'm looking into 24v DC split ACs for my van, also since I don't even have one in the cab. I have a 280ah 24v lifepo4 pack and 1360w of solar. Don't wanna run it through the inverter if possible. There are loads of those DC Air conditioners on Alibaba, mostly...
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

thanks for the information. We talked about rail but I went with sea freight as per her recommendation due to frequent transshipment on the train and a higher risk of something to get damaged. The time seems to be the same (about 30 days). Price as well. I would be surprised if it ended up being...

This is an EASunpower ISolar SMV III 3K-24, identical to MPPSolar PIP3024GK. Been working great so far
  • Post in thread: For those of you looking to monitor your ANT-BMS with Pi3 via Bluetooth.

Hi, has anyone tried that meanwhile? According to this thread the original display wires just interface with the STM32 microcontroller on the BMS https://github.com/imval/AntBMS/issues/1 I have the display but don't use it so I'm wondering if I can get this connected. On my RPi I'm running the...
  • Post in thread: New setup for all electric appliance RV - request for comments and questions

Hi, I'm new to the forum but been reading the book and watching a lot of stuff online. I'm looking into a conversion of a box van to a camper with an induction cooktop and electric convection oven. As I'm an IT guy there will be also some electronics to charge and run. I was looking into a 48v...
  • Post in thread: Will blasts Chargery

What confuses me about Will's video is that he uses only 1 relay. Looking at page 21 of http://chargery.com/doc/Chargery_BMS8T_specification_V4.0.pdf, the common port example shows 2 relays in series (which I think is kinda stupid). If I want to use it on an AllInOne system I need a common port...
  • Post in thread: 1400w solar, Mpp Solar 24v 3kw, 150ah DIY Lipofe4 RV set up

Hi, You're not the only one, I'm looking into a quite similar build here in Ireland. I've been looking into the same MPP solar inverter and similar sized solar setup on a low loader / low profile luton van. If you say max vdc 500v i suppose you mean the PIP3024GK one...
  • Post in thread: DC powered Mini Split Air Conditioning system

I got a bit more information about the DC air conditioning. Any thoughts on this? They claim to have 2 styles for the outside unit, both with the same price and the same specs. I'd go for the more square-ish one (but I do believe that it's thicker than the 6.1inch in the picture). Any...
  • Post in thread: EASunpower ISolar SMV III 3K-24 / MPPSolar 3024GK. "line fail" in watchpower app

Hi, I've finally installed the mentioned AiO (EASun model) in my van with 4xPanasonic HIT 340W (in series). Every so often I'm getting a "line fail" in the app. No other issues and everything seems to work just fine. I'm only running with battery and PV, no shore power for now. Can there be a...
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

hmm.. my cell voltage seem to drift more and more. I had to run without a BMS for like 2 weeks or so after the initial balance to 3.65V in parallel. Do I have to repeat this process or will it balance out over time? Considering the flat voltage curve of lifepo4 this difference is huge
  • Post in thread: AC or DC ??? Powering an overland fridge-freezer from a solar power station.

I have found a company (in Germany) that converts fridges from AC to DC by swapping out the compressor. Bought a brand new cheap AC fridge and had him converting it. Ended up paying less than half compared to what I would have paid for a new DC one and runs straight off 12/24V. They ship within...
  • Post in thread: Shut off Location

I have a breaker (could have gone for fuse as well) just between my positive battery side and my shut off switch. There's also a switch for PV, no breaker but I have an inline fuse on the roof in the positive leg. It's a big pain in the backside if you need to do any work and you can't shut off...
  • Post in thread: Snail trail on brand new solar panels

Hi, I just got me pack of 4 new 340W Panasonic HIT delivered and put them up for a quick test. They seem to work alright but I don't have my batteries yet so can't really check the charging output. I'm getting about 250-ish volt with 4 in series. Looking at them they show some discoloration...
  • Post in thread: Charging camper on EV charging ports

Hi, I've seen discussions on other forums and there seem to be some additional electronics in the chargers that communicate with the car and prevent any other use. Any Tesla supercharger obviously won't work. But what's the story with those standard 230V AC public charging ports in Europe? Is...
  • Post in thread: Snail trail on brand new solar panels

Thanks for that. I dropped them an email. Let's see what comes back. Stupid noob question: Can I actually leave them outside like this (still connected in series) I should disconnect the panels from each other or even cover them up? At least they should be fine in the rain :) I just wrapped...
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

I didn't order the wifi module yet, thought about it though. Let me know how it works :) The bluetooth app works quite well but the range is kinda crap, it works in my van, however. Maybe I'll hook up a raspberry pi to the USB port for monitoring at some point
  • Post in thread: Snail trail on brand new solar panels

was just wondering if there's a best to not connect panels together if they aren't connected to a load. But actually shouldn't matter since the circuit is still open. They'll stay out in the grass and in the sun without load. I already had my EASun (like MPPSolar) AIO connected (batteryless)...
