Some good thoughts HarryN. The Epoch batteries have a recommended charge rate 80A each. So maybe I should shelve the additional 125A charger and see how the setup goes with the added solar and new batteries. I was going to do the charger first and additional solar second but I think I will...

https://www.windynation.com/products/4-0-gauge-black-red-welding-cable-various-lengths-available Shows in the pic that its rated up to 105C. I dont mind going conservative and putting in larger wire when it comes to safety.

Currently the Smaller Jaboni controller and solar system and the magnum inverter are all installed from the factor. My RV is a Tiffin Allegro Red 33AA. Its a 35' diesel pusher that has a 8000W generator. I already purchased the Renogy IP67 DC to DC MPPT and the two Epoch 300Ah batteries. I...

Alternator is a 160A unit on a ISB 6.7 Cummins. So the Renogy 50A should be safe for the alternator. The Magnum invertor is already installed so I was just using the bus bar to simplify the install of the new batteries. My thought process was on bus bar pair for all the 12v connections to the...

I should have put it in my original post now that I think about it. It a 2021. I have spoke to the spyder folks on how to disable the auto merge. Also since many of the systems are already installed I assumed it would be an easier project to tackle. My main concerns are just getting the new...
  • Post in thread: Rebel Batteries BMS or cell issue?

Well shortly after I made my last comment he reached out and sent a replacement battery. The replacement is a plastic case instead of my original metal case. Looking at his inventory it seems he is out of metal and almost all the other models. Sucks to see but his social media accounts have...

Thank you for the reply. I used a calculator for the wire sizes. Did I not use it correctly? For the 125A charger for example if the 1 way run is less than 5ft it calls for 4 awg wire. Should I be basing it off the fuse size? Just edited to add I realized I wrote 8 awg wire for the...

So I got a chance to check everything out in the RV right now. Currently my 4x 6V 230Ah batteries are 2S2P and have a 600A fuse on positive and negative 3/0 wiring that is about 10ft in total lenght 5ft each. It seems the factory fused the 3/0 for 600A? I am going to get a Lynx Class T and...

Well its done. Now to figure out how to work a few of these items. I scrapped the Renogy charger and got a Orion XS on order and already installed a Smartsolar 100/50, a smartshunt and a Lynx Distributor. Four 250W Richsolar panels on the roof. Here in Salt Lake I did get 4.8kWh of...

I have heard back and was told a box would be sent out on the 23rd of August. So far nothing has shown up and I have asked for a status update twice. So glad I didnt buy the 2x 300Ah batteries from them I was looking to order.

I am in no rush. I know I cant just drop in my batteries. I need to at minimum disable my automerge and add the DC to DC charger. If I dont the batteries have the ability to pull 100% of its capacity for hours on end. Adding the bus bars and fusing to them will be helpful if I add anything...

Thanks. I literally went with the rebel battery because of his activity/story. Seemed like a company I wanted to support. So yeah I am surprised with the radio silence. I will get my google foo going on the JBD BMS symptoms.
  • Post in thread: Temgot 300 Ah Self heating?

I saw a few threads about the 100 Ah batteries and was wondering if anyone had experience with the 300 Ah. I saw a tear down of the 100 Temgot and Varter by Lithium Solar and his only issue was the solid bus bars. I would like to get 2 of the self heating for use in a RV. The price point on...

Another update if anyone is still following along. The Lynx Class T power in wont be availabe in the US until June. Timing wont work for me so I ordered a Lynx Distributor. I will run individual 4/0 Wire from each battery to a 600A rated blue sea battery disconnect then through a blue sea...
  • Post in thread: RV Solar, charging and battery upgrade plan

I dont think I will need to be pulling 600A from the batteries. I just know they are capable of producing that due to the BMS specs. I think the largest single item draw is my Magnum invertor which the specs say can pull 400ADC. I know the 12V system in the RV can pull some at the same time...

I was using this one https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/12v-wire-size There are a few others and they had the same results. https://www.wirebarn.com/Wire-Calculator-_ep_41.html I didnt actually crunch the calculations since I was getting similar results a few places.
  • Post in thread: RV Solar, charging and battery upgrade plan

Hello, I am currently in the process of planning and upgrading my RV power system. I am replacing my 4 worthless 6v 230Ah batteries with 2 Epoch 300Ah V2 lithiums. To do so I need to add a DC to DC charger and I want to be able to charge the lithiums as quickly as possible when driving my...
  • Post in thread: Rebel Batteries BMS or cell issue?

Well I am still waiting on my warranty issue. Sent the battery back over 2 months ago at this point and I havent even got an email saying they recieved it. Im pretty pissed at this point. No I have nothing. If I didnt send the battery back I could have at least tried to get a new BMS or fix...
  • Post in thread: RV Solar, charging and battery upgrade plan

Haha. I wasnt trying to put crap in it. I have never even seen the lynx stuff. Checking them out I should get the Lynx Type C Powerin and a Lynx Distributor. Should I use a 300A class T fuse on each battery in lead to the Lynx? I will finally get to head over to the RV tomorrow to check...
  • Post in thread: RV Solar, charging and battery upgrade plan

Thanks for the link. That calculator is giving me the same results as the other but I like the interface. So for the 125A DC to DC charger I put in my info as follows 12v, 125A, 10 ft round trip length. For CCA I put max draw allowed by bms of 600A and selected branch since its not the main...
  • Post in thread: Rebel Batteries BMS or cell issue?

I am having a bit of an issue with a Rebel Batteries 100 Ah battery. I can't figure out if a cell went bad, the BMS died or both. I have been reaching out to Rebel since Saturday and have not heard back. Left voivemails, chat on the site, emails, and even a message on facebook. Hate to out a...
