  • Post in thread: Device to turn pump off when grid goes down

Thanks so much for the replies. A contactor relay that's normally open connected to grid power seems pretty simple and elegant to resolve my issue. Didn't know those exist, but they seem pretty inexpensive. I think with this one I wouldn't even need a power supply...

I hear what you're saying. But does that mean the 8 panels can be used or better not?
  • Post in thread: Tuya Smart Switch for solar pool pump

I am looking for a way to remotely turn the solar pool pump on/off. The mppt pump controller is connected to 4 460W solar panels (around 80V). I have a couple of Tuya Smart Switches for AC applications, but can't find any suitable for DC. Does anyone know if the AC ones would work for DC or if...

I was using 4 460 Watt 40V panels to run a pool pump. It was running fine on sunny days, but not on cloudy days. So I added 4 more of the same panels, but now learned from the installer that this would overpower the mppt pump controller which is max. 100V / 15 Amps. I was assuming that the...

. I had a solar pool pump that unfortunately stopped working. Until I get a new one, I want to connect my conventional pump using the power generated from the four 350 Watt panels that were installed for the solar pump. I can use this energy through my LV2424 inverter, combined with grid power...

Finding DC Smart Breakers is easier said than done. The closest I came across is: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrUxVzw It's rated for 80V and the seller is not all that helpful. I am using 4 Peimar 460W panels. VOC per panel is 49.85V and they are configured 2 in series and then parallel, so...

Thanks for your reply. That's exactly what I thought. Even told the installer that an outlet also provides 20 Amps, but it's possible to connect something using milliamps. He said that AC is different and that the panels are DC and push the Amps to the controller. As I'm a noob, I wanted to...
  • Post in thread: BLS Black Friday Sale

I had seen the same offer and find it very tempting. If they really are 150AH, you could build a 24V 150AH for the price of a Battleborn 50AH and have 3 times more power. It would be nice having someone who used them comment about quality.

Attached are the specs of the 8 Peimar solar panels, the solar pump controller and the solar pump connected to the controller. I think the question comes down to if the panels make the amps available like a transformer would or if they push them onto the controller.

I use a saltwater chlorinator. It beeps on low flow. But you're reply is sort of off topic anyway. But thanks for the hint
