    EG4 6000XP setup questions.

Not sure if this is right spot to ask, but can you use a 120 volt generator with an EG4 6000XP. I have Kubota driven 12,500 watt generator with one wiring at 120 volts, 60 amps. Will this work or do I need 240 volts? Thanks

    Smokin’ Hot Battery

Thanks for the input. Batteries are over 20 years old and were well maintained by the prior owner and myself, however will now go forward and replace with LFP. Thought you might enjoy a video of the “Smokin Battery”, but it looks like videos can’t be uploaded

    Smokin’ Hot Battery

I have an old 24 V System (12 x 2V) 850 Ah @ 20, however have noticed that the battery bank seems to need a change more often. Today, while charging, I noticed that one battery was 80C while all the others were around 40C. When I opened the vent cap, smoke was coming out. Not sure what’s going...

I went with "Filter Guys" logic opting for paralleling the batteries first, then series; his logic seemed sound. He has posted an article on this on the Site

So, means 40 batteries and 5 BMS's is this correct, in an 5p8s configuration? Any idea of the rough cost of this in CDN $ in Vancouver, BC?

    BMS Bluetooth range extender

Yes, going to go with the VE Smart Dongle for the MPPT Unit. VE specs is 20 metres, so should work! I also have a VE BMV 712, yet to be installed. I believe the Bluetooth is in the head unit, which will be much closer to the comfy chair, so don’t believe I will have an issue with it, but we...

    BMS Bluetooth range extender

Re use of my words “relatively close”. I believe all VE devices are working properly re Bluetooth distances; believe designed for 10 metres - 33 feet. Outside I can connect at 33 feet; inside is about 22 feet. Even if I could get 50 feet inside, would be able to stay in my chair!

    BMS Bluetooth range extender

Not sure if this is the right thread or perhaps someone can direct me to another thread. I recently installed a Victron Energy 250/100 MPPT SCC as well as their Battery Sense Module. All Bluetooth and set up and viewing via Bluetooth on Victron Connect works flawlessly. PROBLEM: I have to be...

.... and I believe we should have lots of diagrams, charts, schematics, etc. For me, a “visual” conveys way more information than words! Words can be so imprecise. Also, a visual gives a common reference point to guide a discussion to avoid statements like “Oh, I didn’t know you were talking...
